5/10GreatSchools RatingParent Rating AverageI would recommend this school. My kid has felt encouraged and excited to learn. The softball and swim teams provided a nurturing and positive experience. While there are incident reports, my kid has never felt unsafe. The principal and staff are helpful. Teaching experience is mixed - would say that 3 out of 5 teachers are motivating and have made a significant difference in my child's learning. Overall a great experience!Parent Review7mo ago12 Reviews - Toomer Elementary School

5/10GreatSchools RatingParent Rating AverageWe absolutely love Toomer Elementary! The IB curriculum encourages my daughter to think globally and engage deeply with her learning. She’s thriving both academically and socially, and it’s been wonderful to watch her grow in such a supportive environment. The school community is incredibly welcoming and vibrant, from weekly bike buses to events like Screen on the Green and the Race for FATE. We truly can’t imagine a better place for her to learn and flourish.Parent Review4mo ago34 Reviews - Maynard H. Jackson- Jr. High School

"I am not familiar with any community events in Edgewood. It is close by to other neighborhoods that often have community events. Candler Park, Grant Park, Inman Park, Kirkwood, Decatur are all in a 10-15 minute drive at the most. "

"The area is undergoing major changes. Gentrification has been a great change for some and difficult for others especially seniors on afixed income. We have a lot of great shopping, and a variety of restaurants. The property values are getting better. "
