"Lived here for 5 years; never once been made to feel welcome. Looking forward to getting out in the next year or so."
  • Trulia User
"It’s a VERY safe neighborhood, however it needs to be cleaned up more frequently and people need to be mindful of when their dogs relieve themselves on my yard, they just leave it but this could be just one person if I’m being honest. Neighbors are generally okay but can be loud."
  • Jazzmyn M. B.
"I have lived here for almost 21 years and I love how friendly everybody is to each other. also how great of a school we have"
  • Mostbasicindividual
"it's very rural, the commute for myself is 25 minutes to southern Vermont. the jobs are either in southern Vermont, Western Massachusetts, or Albany NY. "
  • Alaburn850
"Good town, everyone knows everyone's business, be careful drama spreads easily. Safe, for the most part. Not much job opportunities, beautiful rural setting. Older generations are amazing but younger generation is troubled, myself, I was too I admit but it's an amazing town, not much too do but if you enjoy nature, it's for you."
  • WarEagle
"Don't get me wrong, you'll be safer here than anywhere however, we are looking to move down south, the commute time is rather long to a good job. The area is riddled with petty crimes and heavy drugs. The police harass you if you're literally just driving to the store because they're just as bored as you are, not their fault. Taxes are pretty high, lack of good stores unless you drive either to Albany or Saratoga Springs areas, schools are decent and again you'll be safe but you'll be extremely bored."
  • Natalie H.
"This is a family-oriented community with exceptional activities for young people, including two playgrounds, a swimming pool, and an ice skating rink with skating lessons. The library is beautiful and offers many programs for adults and children. There is an afterschool tutoring program, and a group of volunteers renovating the Armory to include an art gallery, cafe, a food coop, farmers' market, and a variety of adult classes. The summer is special with band concerts every week in the park, a real community tradition. A village atmosphere with friendly people and a hint of yesterday, surrounded by beautiful hills, country roads, and several rivers. Bennington, Vermont, and Cambridge, NY, both offer shopping, restaurants, and cultural events and are only 10 miles away. "
  • Jean L.
"Beautiful Area to Live in with views of the Green Mountains yet on the NY side with better buy on homes. Safe place to live. 5 miles to Bennington, VT border,45 min to Albany & Saratoga "
  • Margemarker36
"This is a safe, quiet town, bordering Vermont & commutable to tri-cities. High quality llifestyle for retirees; excellent public/parochial schools; library & Senior Center. Lots of value for $$$. Country club offers golf & social activities, community band offers weekly concerts in summer at local park; great recreation facilities/sports programs. Something for everyone."
