5/10GreatSchools RatingParent Rating AverageAs a parent, I am very proud how my kid did at this school. My kid had to learn resilience as well as academics. Resilience is something that all kids learn in middle school because kids can be cruel. The ridicule and bullying my kid had to endure affected going to school each day. Being called by the school's assistant principals to address behaviors from other students who bothered my kid resulted in a change in my kids behavior which included feelings of isolation that my kid had to accept. There are great teachers in this school but they do not really get the support from principal Barone. Emailing and visiting the office to speak with a principal who keeps her door closed and my emails forwarded to assistant principals versus a personal response from her was a great disappointment. I realized, after watching her speak during events at the school, that she is antisocial with people. Unless you are a person of status, you are non-existent. She is seen interacting with students for social media posts but she couldn't take the time to speak with me regarding what was happening with my kid. The lack of care for even one student's problems/issues and to speak with a concerned parent shows that she is not a principal but a person who does not know how to deal with resolving conflict in her own school. Schools are filled with conflict and maybe it's a lack of training on the Board of Education. Some of the 3 stars would be 4-5 stars for the assistant principals, teachers, parent counselor, PTA, office staff, and nurses had it not been for the lack of professional support from Principal Barone. My kid has learned how to mature in this school and continues to be loved because as parents, that is our job to teach our kids to be strong and handle how kids are. When kids behave abhorrently, it is because their parents are abhorrent as well. When principals can't address bad student behavior with parents, then they are seen as weak to parents like me. Word of advice for Principal Barone. When a parent wishes to speak with you, put down your cell phone on your selfie stick and just do your job and maybe take a course in learning how to have difficult conversations with people as you might learn something.Parent Review1mo ago21 Reviews - Susan E Wagner High School

"It’s not as expensive to live here, however, there is convenient access to restaurants, stores, highways, and public transportation. It’s a good place for a starter home but the schools are not good so it’s not the best place to raise children."

"This is a family neighborhood however there can be a lot of foot traffic and people speeding on the side streets so it’s not the safest for small children. "
