2/10GreatSchools RatingParent Rating AverageI have been very impressed with the leadership and curriculum at Elgin High School. They have partnered with ACC Elgin and students are now graduating with enough college credits to be juniors in college! They work hard to stay up to date on all of the latest technology and academics. I have met several parents who were very pleased with the education their kids received at Elgin High School. As far as college and career readiness, Elgin High School is top notch!Other Review6y ago5 Reviews - Elgin Middle School

3/10GreatSchools RatingParent Rating AverageI recently moved to the area, and I am not pleased with the school district as a whole. I have 2 children that are enrolled in school, and I am questioning how they passed to go to the next grade. I find myself teaching them more than they learn in school. There are no parent teacher conferences and you will not know your child's progress unless you ask. Even asking, they would tell you "Your child is doing great", but I see otherwise. The middle school is ran like a prison because the kids only focus on dating and fighting. There were too many fights that occurred in one year and no respect for each other or the teachers. The schools are overcrowded and outdated. This was not a good experience at all. I hate having to pay taxes to go towards such a waste. Lastly the worst thing is there is no good communication with the district transportation department. I had to take and pick up my kids every day because after I enrolled them and filled out the form so my children would be assigned a bus and they never responded or sent anything. If you ask, no one knows anything either. They have a summer bridge program where the students are required to attend for 3 weeks and said they would be providing transportation during the summer and once again, they did not follow through nor respond to emails. So, I am having to figure out a schedule for my job that will allow me to pick them up.Other Review2y ago10 Reviews - Neidig Elementary School

"Nothing unique about Manor, it’s like any other place. New places being such as grocery stores, restaurants, and other businesses."

"My commute isn’t too bad because I work close but it can be a headache for those who have to go into Austin regularly. Traffic on the main road in and out of Manor is pretty bad during peak times."

"I’ve lived here for about 10 years. Many neighbors have come and gone throughout the years. I’ve always felt safe and comfortable here. "

"Dogs without leash. Repeated lost dogs. Poop in yard. Presidential is awful and HOA doesn’t keep it up to date or make it nicer. "

"There are craft fairs, city events, American Legion events all within 2 miles. We have lived here two decades and watched it grow from a tiny farm town to the place everyone is moving to. "

"Manor may not have lot of shopping, malls or fancy eating places, but you breathe lot easy here. No pollution, noise, honking cars or traffic jams. Lot of new residential contraction is coming up here and is perfect place to raise the kids and family. People pay three times to live in broken houses built in 50s in Austin when you can get newly built house here in Manor."

"Many families here, school system is now great. Lots of home decor for holidays which is very entertaining. Tennis courts available close to the middle school all year long, same thing for soccer fields or basketball courts. The city is also very diverse and is starting to have more and more businesses opening. "

"It is a nice quiet neighborhood and much better than most neighborhoods I've lived in since moving to Austin. People are friendly but respectful of your privacy. There are lots of family, kids, and BBQ events here. People are also very helpful when you need it! "

"Nice and neighborly! Everyone looks out for one another and it’s really quiet in my neighborhood. I never worry about anything because my neighbors have my back."

"Traffic is really bad here but I believe the mayor is working to make it better sometimes it takes 30 minutes to get out of this Siri it’s because he’s growing so fast and has not expanded the roads to be able to support the growing community"

"There isn't much to do in the Manor area. Any fine dining, or entertainment will have to be found closer to Austin. The city is rapidly growing, so traffic, and crime is on the rise. Manor is a relatively quiet, and safe place to live. "

"Just need to be careful and prepared. Lots of pit bulls. On my first walk in the neighborhood with my dog had a pit come after me. Luckily I had defense and the owner came and grabbed it. "

"I think this neighborhood is really awkward to get to. it's literally like right outside the city, but the access to actually get in here is so chopped up and backwards it takes forever regardless of traffic"
