About this House

This is 5 wooded acres located on Union road near where it changes to Hortense Rd in Dickson County. It has almost 700' of road frontage and the slight slope of the land makes it perfect for a basement home or a garage under your home. It is within minutes of Dickson but is far enough away you will never hear anything but the sounds of crickets and the occasional owl. It does have access to city water but of course a septic tank would be a necessity. Enjoy the serenity of country living while being only minutes away from town. Just wanted everyone to know that I have been having some trouble with my voice mail and also I have come down with pneumonia so if I don't get back to you right away please try to be understanding. My child is excited to go to school every morning. This is a smaller school so the staff knows kids very well. As for parents, there is always the option and invitation to be as involved as possible at Vanleer. School is during the daytime and many parents work during the daytime so it can be difficult to become involved with celebrations and extracurricular activities. However, teachers and staff encourage reading and math at home. That is the best way you can help your child. That extra time spent at home pays oft in class and life.

"If you work in Nashville the commute can be anywhere from an hour to two, depending on traffic. Usually it an hour and a half for the evening commute. "

"I have lived in this neighborhood for 18 years. It has changed from the middle class families that built the houses in the 70’s to those families moving into retirement. Some stayed. Some left. Some have passed on. The vacancies left have been filled with new families that now have older kids. I’m sure it will go through more changes as I am aging too and getting ready to be an empty-nester. The people have changed, but the area remains a good family neighborhood."

"Overall, Dickson is a nice place to live. There’s always events in downtown. It is relatively safe depending on the neighborhood. The schools are okay, but definitely not as good as Williamson county. The commute to Nashville isn’t too bad. "

"Most people around there don’t really treat their dogs like family. The dogs get left in the yard to bark night and day and ignored. If your dog is family you probably won’t fit in here either. "
