7/10GreatSchools RatingParent Rating AverageThis is a great school. The only downside is that it is a little rough when trying to maintain an IEP or 504 plan for a child with special needs, but once you get through the meeting and keep it in place when you need it, they do great on working with the child. For emotional or mental health support, the school counselor is very involved. Most teachers are great and communicate well. They try to motivate and make learning a little more fun. I do feel that sometimes the homework work load is TOO MUCH compared to when I attended middle school. But I think they are trying to work on this from what I see. The current principal (and assistant principal) are both very involved as well and always upbeat. They do take things seriously when needed though. The school tries to ramp up school spirit, which is always fun. The elective class choices they have now (that I totally wish I had when I was in school) are fantastic! For example, they have engineering and my son really enjoyed that as he is a “hands on” type of kid. I feel that the school is safe and in a great location. My son really enjoys Genoa. There is a new principal at the school this year, and I think he will be a good leader for students and teachers. 6/10GreatSchools RatingParent Rating AverageMy kid goes here and their English curriculum includes a section that is very clearly DEI Drivel. This curriculum includes assignments on the novel All American Boys, which has been heavily banned from many school curriculum for profanity, drug use, and alcoholism, and because it was thought to promote anti-police views and contain divisive topics. Additionally they had my student watch the film, The Hate U Give which supposedly depicts an incident of police brutality and one young woman's opposition to it, however the situation listed as police brutality starts with underage teens attending a party where guns are shot off, failing to follow basic driving laws, and the becoming belligerent/disobedient to a police officer. The "Brutality" occurs when the driver is instructed to place his hands against the car and instead chooses to reach through a window to pull out a hair brush which the cop mistakes for a weapon and subsequently shoots the teen. Rather than focusing on responsible behavior this curriculum chooses to highlight the last failing in a line of poor decision making by all involved. My child does not need this kind of week, victim-mentality mindset and while I condone responsible education on topics of equality I do not condone what's been taught recently. "I have lived in this house scene since 2006 . It is a multi cultural neighborhood and I love it I have learn five or six different cultures. We have cookouts together and I just think this is a number one neighborhood people look out for each other.."

"Dog owners might like the neighborhood, plenty of people have dogs and walk their dogs around here. However, some areas have sidewalks that cut off or no sidewalk at all. There’s a park nearby though…"

"Lived there for a little under a year. This particular area seemed fine but the drug issue and violence became huge when someone was chased down and murdered right in front of our complex. We decided to get out of there!"

"Northern Woods is a very conveniently located area. Nestled between I-270 and State Route 161, it is within 15 minutes of both Easton Town Center and Polaris Fashion Place. Traffic in this area is generally not congested even during rush hour. Cooper Park is a nice sized park with open fields that are great for soccer or fetch, has play equipment for children, basketball hoops, and access to the Alum Creek Multi-Use Trail. "
