As an experienced teacher, I want to work in an environment where students come first. At Somis, due to their commitment to small class sizes and individualized instruction, I have time to address their needs and get to know them and their families. At a large middle school, it's easier for students to get lost or go unrecognized, but in our setting, I spend an enormous amount of time with students and support them in every way possible. My class is always open, and I have parents that stop by, email, or call on a regular basis. We create a partnership that maximizes their success and sends them on a path to success in high school and beyond. I love Somis and I love my Somis students! We are a family, and many of my former students still come to visit when they can.

"Born and raised in Somis, CA. Known for the agriculture, low density, and quiet lifestyle. It has provided so much privacy, space, and no real city noise. Growing up we did feel isolated as kids but know I wouldn’t have it any other way! I love it here in Somis. "

"Small, low population but high traffic due to highways. Farming community with lots of agro fields and orchards. Low crime and great people to live near, very friendly. You could pass right threw and never know you did though, makes it great! "
