"It is a 45 min commute to the AF base and a 30 min commute to the Army base. There's a small construction zone (7 miles) but traffic doesn't get too backed up and it's almost done."

"There is a great local store Lucky Junque who does outdoor movie nights, this past year (2019) we had our first toano Christmas tree lighting - lots of amazing people, great community and town. "

"A lot of dogs in the neighborhood. Owner stake good care and keep-the dogs leashed. Most dogs are friendly. Owners are friendly as well. I don’t hear a lot of barking unless the alarm sounds at the nearby fire station. The sidewalks are great for walking your dog and there are also some nice walking paths in the neighborhood as well "

"Parents just keep kids safe. Make sure they do not roam around unattended because people break the speed limits in neighborhoods, due to low activity "

"That’s the worst thing about toano. You have to drive a long way. For everything. Groceries, target, restaurants. All 20+ min away. Doesn’t sound bad? Wait til you need eggs, milk or whatnot"

"Pet friendly neighborhood with trails and plenty of grassy areas to walk your dog. Other dogs are taken care of and kept on lease, they do not roam freely"

"Stonehouse in Toano is a wonderful golf course community with a perfect mix of families of all ages. It is an amazing area with friendly, welcoming neighbors, in addition residents have access to club house, pool, work-out gym, fishing pier and much more! We have been in love since we moved here a year ago, our kids couldn’t be happier in their new schools, highly recommend!! Ridge drive in particular in an astounding street lined with beautiful homes."
