6/10GreatSchools RatingParent Rating AverageAs someone whose family has attended Pasadena Memorial High School for three generations, I’ve witnessed firsthand the dramatic decline in the spirit and integrity of the baseball program. What was once a proud and competitive team built on hard work, coaching, and camaraderie has now become a selective club driven by favoritism and convenience.Today’s coaching staff appears more interested in recruiting players from deer Park, Pearland, select teams or families who contribute financially or volunteer extensively, rather than developing raw talent from within the student body. If a student hasn’t played on a select team or doesn’t have parents actively involved in supporting the program, their chances of making the team are slim—regardless of potential. This approach not only discourages aspiring athletes but undermines the very foundation of high school sports: growth, teamwork, and opportunity. Coaches now prioritize players who already know the game, making minimal effort to teach, mentor, or build team chemistry. The result is a fractured program lacking unity, development, and the competitive edge it once had.The contrast between the early 2000s and today is stark. Back then, coaches invested in their players, cultivated talent, and fostered a winning culture. That commitment is gone. Until the coaching staff returns to the fundamentals of teaching and team-building, the baseball program will continue to fall short—and the trophy hall will remain a relic of what once was.Parent Review8mo ago7 Reviews - Earnesteen Milstead Middle School

5/10GreatSchools RatingParent Rating AverageAs a concerned parent, I feel it's important to share my experience with Milstead Middle School. Unfortunately, the school lacks strong leadership and structure, especially when it comes to discipline. While there are rules in place, they are not consistently enforced, which has led to serious issues with student behavior. The principal comes across as very laid-back, which might seem positive at first, but it contributes to a lack of accountability throughout the school. Even more concerning is the role of the assistant principals — they are largely unhelpful when it comes to resolving student issues. They are neither proactive nor supportive in addressing ongoing problems and often only get involved when a situation has already escalated. This environment creates an opening for bullying and disruptive behavior to thrive. It’s deeply frustrating to see repeated issues go unaddressed until they affect classroom learning or teacher morale.Another major concern is how disruptive students impact the learning environment. If your child shares a class with a student who has frequent discipline issues, be prepared — your child’s learning will likely suffer all year. Teachers can only do so much without consistent support from administration. Unfortunately, the lack of intervention from school leadership leaves teachers overwhelmed and unable to maintain a productive classroom environment.Overall, I would not recommend Milstead Middle School to parents who are looking for a safe, structured, and supportive environment for their children. Stronger leadership and a more consistent approach to discipline are urgently needed.Parent Review8mo ago9 Reviews - Check out schools near Crenshaw.

"Dog walking occurs, but please be courteous and pick up behind your pup. Per Houston law, dogs must be on a leash less than 6 feet long. That includes when letting your dog out in the front to pee/poo. "

"The traffic is unreasonable given how close I live to my job. Lots of construction and school zones which causes traffic to hold up in the mornings. "

"I’m a single senior woman and I feel safe here. My neighbors are friendly. Dogs run loose though and their owners don’t seem to care. There is a lot of speeding on local streets and very loud music in cars."

"There are no nearby dog parks, dogs tend to need to be kept on leashes at all times and there are plenty of people in the area who also own dogs. It’d be nice to have a community dog park for local dog owners to take their dogs "

"I love the walkability of the neighborhood. It is really quiet and not alot of traffic. This is important when your pup has anxiety and easily spooked by cars and motor cycles. I wish there were trails through the neighboorhood."

"Since the other reviews were from apartment renters, and weren't very good, it seems only fair to offer another point of view. I bought my house in this area in 2006 and have been very happy here. Nice neighbors, safe neighborhood, easy access to freeways, decent restaurants and shopping nearby. I think it's a great location for families, good schools (better than most of HISD!), and best of all, you can get a lot of house for your money in this area. Perfect, no, but it has certainly served us well!"

"The parking here is terrible. Some nights there are no parking spots available for residents who don't pay extra for covered or garage parking. I have told apartment staff and they do not seem to care. They are also very rude and basically just tell you what you want to here. The apartments are nice and maintenance is good. The grass is kept well and it is clean. The head maintenace man is very nice and really doees a great job. If you want a place to park your car but do not want to pay extra for covered or garage i suggest you look for something else! One night I came home and there wa not a single spot for me to park in the entire complex! I called police on duty and he agreed with me that the parking here SUCKS!!!"
