4/10GreatSchools RatingParent Rating AverageThe accountability structure of this school is broken or non-existent. Instead of trying to improve, they continually suppress voices of concerns and deflect from real issues. They do some routine superficial things just to cover up. The principal is always hiding and apparently she has delegated everything to the vice principal who is absolutely dysfunctional and a just talking machine. I regret putting my child in this school.Parent Review3y ago8 Reviews - Women's Academy of Excellence

1/10GreatSchools RatingParent Rating AverageI’ve had a truly memorable and rewarding experience at WAE. The teachers genuinely care about their students and go above and beyond to support both our academic and personal growth. The campus is welcoming, and there’s a strong sense of community among students, faculty, and staff. From academics to athletics to extracurriculars, there are countless opportunities to explore interests and develop leadership skills. I’ve learned so much, made lifelong friends, and grown into a more confident version of myself. I’m proud to be a senior at WAE and grateful for all the moments that made high school meaningful!Student Review1y ago12 Reviews - Archimedes Academy for Math, Science and Technology Applications

4/10GreatSchools RatingParent Rating AverageThe school’s climate and overall leadership have significantly declined during the principal’s approximately four years of administration. There are serious ongoing concerns regarding student supervision, staff accountability, and the overall safety and well-being of students within the building.Middle school students are frequently observed running through the hallways in an unsafe manner, often nearly colliding with students, staff, and visitors. There appears to be little consistent enforcement of behavioral expectations or school safety procedures. In addition, students are often openly disrespectful toward teachers without meaningful consequences or administrative intervention. There are also concerns regarding the lack of appropriate boundaries between middle school and high school students, with fraternization occurring without adequate supervision or corrective action. This raises concerns about maintaining a safe and age-appropriate school environment.Furthermore, there have been repeated concerns regarding inappropriate interactions between male staff members and female students that do not appear to be addressed adequately by school leadership. The perception among staff and families is that these concerns are overlooked rather than thoroughly and professionally investigated. There are also significant concerns regarding special education compliance. Some students with disabilities reportedly are not consistently receiving the services and supports mandated in their IEPs, which may negatively impact both their academic progress and legal rights.Bullying continues to be a major concern within the school, with students reportedly not receiving sufficient support or protection when incidents are reported. Additionally, concerns have been raised regarding the effectiveness of disciplinary leadership, particularly that the dean’s role appears to focus more on monitoring staff than actively addressing student behavior and improving school culture. Overall, there is a growing perception that the school environment lacks the structure, accountability, and proactive leadership necessary to maintain a safe, respectful, and supportive learning environment for all students and staff.Other Review1mo ago5 Reviews - Check out schools near Cornell Ave.

"The Neighbourhood is great, quiet & picturesque. The co-op is keeps the property very nice and you can’t beat the amenities. The building staff is a great support and the community holds seasonal activities for their residence which is nice, especially if you’re trying to connect with your neighbors. "

"Lovely community that keeps on grounded. The garbage streets is improved as it seems more landlords are cleaning the street but there are spots that remain gross especially adjacent to empty lots or building construction areas. Most people are friendly to newcomers. Prospect park is a huge asset. I am impressed and pleased that NYC is taking care of and improving the park especially south of Lincoln ave. "
