7/10GreatSchools RatingParent Rating AverageI began attending Jefferson High School in 2022 with hopes of growing academically, building friendships, and preparing for my future. Unfortunately, my experience was cut short in 2024 due to harassment, bullying, and institutional failure after I came forward about being sexually assaulted by a male student. When I bravely reported the assault to the principal, school staff, and the resource officer, I expected safety and support — but instead, I was met with silence and disbelief. No proper action was taken to address the situation or to ensure the safety of others. Instead of holding the perpetrator accountable or requiring him to get help, the school allowed him to remain on campus without consequence. After coming forward, I was harassed both in person and online — through Snapchat, Instagram, and even by strangers who called me a liar without knowing the full story. The emotional toll was devastating. I lost close friends and my support system, and the school made no effort to support my mental health or well-being during that time.In the end, I had no choice but to leave Jefferson High School and pursue my education through a GED program. While my time there ended painfully, my experience has only deepened my commitment to standing up for others who feel silenced. I know my truth, and I will continue to use my voice to advocate for those who deserve to be heard and protected.Student Review10mo ago9 Reviews - Wildwood Middle School

4/10GreatSchools RatingParent Rating AverageHad 2 children in this school. The principal is the WORST. Rude, not caring, overbearing. They can not keep staff and the parents avoid her as much as you can. The principal has a scetchy past as well, with some issues around testing?? She was put on leave for a while, then came back...Parent Review3y ago17 Reviews - Check out schools near Channel Ct.

"Car is necessary in this rural city. The whole city is not too big, but it is in a rural setting thus a car would be needed to get around. As far as I know, there hasn’t been any buss service here in all of the 25 years since I moved here. "

"A lot of families in the area home life matters the most so how you raise your children is the biggest influence. Everywhere you go you have a good and bad influence. I do wish we had better education in West Virginia. I wish the kids were more involved in wanting to learn, but there is plenty of parks. Friendly people compare to city area. Gradually finding more activities to be involved as a family may have to travel half hour to an hour for shopping, but it’s not impossible. I like the area I live here my whole life."

"There are alot of dog owners and dog friendly people in our neighborhood, and if your dog gets out for whatever reason, everyone will help get it back. People pick up their dogs waste and do well with keeping the neighborhood clean. "

"This is a very dog friendly neighborhood. People walk the dogs all the time. However, sometimes they don’t pick up after their dogs in common areas or seldom there is a pile in my yard."

"Large lots and low traffic on the roads. Large, dog friendly park five minutes away. Mountain trails and C&O canal provide other safe pretty places to take a walk. "

"Becoming more of a DC commuting area but still has a good rural feel to the people and area. If you want strict zoning and harsh HOAs stay in the city. Your neighbors here mind there own business and want you to mind yours. However they are kind, will help out in a second and are open minded. "

"I have lived in this neighborhood for 21 years, and it is unique in that for the state of WV it is an upscale neighborhood. In fact the whole Eastern Panhandle is upscale compared to the rest of the state. "

"There is a farmers market downtown every weekend as well as local fresh produce.Parks and recreation offers a wide variety of activities for community members young and mature. There are youth sports leagues for soccer, football, baseball etc. There are often festivals in downtown Charles town on the weekend. There is a great small library. This is A historic area with battlefields and historic landmarks. Lots of things to see and do"

"Everyone pretty much stays to themselves, very quiet even though it’s tons of kids. Not much to do in the area, schools are just okay. Main thing going for the area is cost of living is affordable. "
