About this House

What a wonderful listing this is! An absloutely prime piece of real estate in the coveted Shekomeko Valley which will afford the new owner some of the most magnifecent views in the county. Long valley views down the Shekomeko valley to the south to the north east the Taconic Range and to the west Catskill views. If that were not enough the views across neighboring land is for the most part protected by conservations easements which will keep the valley free of develoment inperpetuity. However the land itself is unecumbered by easements and the next owner will have the ability to place easements on the land themselves and receive substatila tax benefits for doing as such. The parcel is located in the towns of Pine Plains and Northeast. About half the land is open productive arable land the remainder is forested. There are hunt trails on the property and old stone walls mark some of the boundaries. The cross country skiing is superlative as is the hiking. For the fisherman there is 2000 feet of double bank fishing on the Shekomeko Creek. This a well known and well stocked stream besides the fact that it is a really beautiful stretch of water. Another smaller stream comes down through the property to meet the Shekomeko where large browns are know to frequent. There is considerable road frontage on a lightly travelled country road. The coolest town in the county Millerton with its array of shops movie theatre and rail trail is only about five miles. Pine Plains is about the same. Mashomack Polo is even closer. The property is a sportamans dream but would also be highly suitable as a horse farm of which there are many in the area. The small home in the property is in great shape having been recently updated but retains much of the original charm. It would make a very good guest house to accompany a more substantial house nearby.
Brooks Rd, Pine Plains, NY 12567 is a 3 bedroom, 2 bathroom, 2,000 sqft lot/land built in 1850. This property is not currently displayed as for sale or rent on Trulia.
