2/10GreatSchools RatingParent Rating AverageI went to parkdale as a kid. I moved from state to state each year. Parkdale was a great school that has supportive teachers, tutoring, after school activities and an awesome community feel. I came back years later and had all three of my kids there. The teacher support is still amazing! They were there for them academically and emotionally. My kids were happy to go there. I highly recommend!Parent Review10mo ago3 Reviews - Waco High School

3/10GreatSchools RatingParent Rating AverageMost of the staff seems like they are there to collect a check and checked out. You can tell which staff members are invested. Short staffed. UnorganizedWhat happened to the passion and psychology of teaching?Fights breaking out right in front of me and police just watching. No attempt to stop or step in.Drop off and pick up are a disaster with traffic, busses and kids crossing without paying attention. The staff literally looks burned out and over it.PARENTS NEED TO DO BETTER SO OUR EDUCATORS CAN CARE AND HELP YOUR CHILD WITH THE SKILLS THEY NEED . We are in a college town .. do better for your child.Parent Review2y ago4 Reviews - Tennyson Middle School

4/10GreatSchools RatingParent Rating AverageAwful experience overall, with only a few exceptions among the staff. My child learned very little here, came home angry almost every day, and was even nearly stabbed by another student—yet the other child faced no suspension. The band teacher frequently complained openly about not being paid enough and about how poor the school was, which was inappropriate to air in front of students and parents. Several teachers were absent for extended periods, and when one quit mid-year, the position was never filled.Communication was poor at best—quick to notify parents when students were in trouble, but almost nonexistent when parents had real questions or concerns about incidents. The building itself is beautiful, and the potential is there for this to be a wonderful place to learn. Unfortunately, the staff culture made it the opposite. Waco ISD should seriously consider addressing professionalism and student support—maybe even start with a reminder to staff about treating children with respect.Parent Review9mo ago7 Reviews - Check out schools near Bosque Blvd.

"My neighborhood is close to a lot of either main roads or easy to travel roads with good speed limits so commuting anywhere is great and easy."

"Some dog owners do not have control of their dogs. Great places to walk your dog but got to watch out for dog poop that has not been picked up."

"It’s less than five minutes away from where I work. In about 10 minutes to downtown. Easy access to all the malls and shopping centers. Not a lot of traffic."

"Hewitt Park is the closest neighborhood park for walking your dog and there are doggy bags available there as well as dog fountains. People do tend to leave their dog's waste behind instead of taking advantage of the easily accessible dog stations. Overall the neighborhoods aren't bad for dog walking with the exception of school zones and busy traffic areas."

"I love my neighbors. The neighborhood is quiet and when you need someone for help, they are glad to help you. Our neighbors walk their dogs, run, walk. It's a beautiful neighborhood to be a part of. "

"Very quiet, friendly, safe and clean neighborhood! You can take a walk anytime of the day or night and feel safe. Most people take pride in where they live whether they rent or own the property. "

"We've lived here for 28 years. We took our kids on walks and to the area parks, and now we're taking our grandchildren. Trick or Treating on Halloween is always a big night here. Family is huge in this area!"

"Quite a few dog owners think it's acceptable for their dogs to walk across their neighbors lawns and freely defecate anywhere at anytime. "

"I walking around the neighborhood with my dog I don’t see that many different types of dogs. So I would say Dog restrictions are unnecessary unless the animal actually has prior offenses."

"We don't have any kind of community events. People either go to Hewitt events or to Waco events. It would be nice if the neighborhoods did more things together but there has to be people who want to plan them. We are moving to Oklahoma to be close to family."
