I just moved to the area, I am a single mother so my son has to put himself on the bus 3 days a week because I have a decent commute to work. He has a phone so that he can contact me if or when he needs me and so I know when He gets to school. My son missed the bus the other day, not only did I not get contacted immediately that my child was taken to school by someone else, but hours later when I was finally contacted I was basically belittled and made out to be a terrible mom by the assistant principal. I have always made sure to keep in contact with the school in regards to my child and have always been respectful. To get a call hours after your child arrives at school by someone else and to be belittled is something that I don't tolerate. I work hard to provide for my kids and I will not have someone who doesn't know my situation make me out to be a mom who is careless. Today I got a phone call saying social services was contacted in regards to my child. Are you kidding me? Not only has this school year seemed highly unorganized but I have not had a good feeling about this school from the get go. I will be transferring my child elsewhere. I should have followed my gut to begin with and saved myself the trouble.

"We have Fairs. Festivals ,Mud Runs ,Races and swimming. Paddling the Shenandoah and Hiking the Trails on the Blue Ridge and George Washington.."

"As far as the job opportunity here, it is very scarce. Your best bet is to find work in the surrounding areas which means your daily commute can be anywhere from 30mins - 1 hr "

"Have lived here for 10 years. It is a great town, location. Small town where you feel safe. Within easy driving of large metro area. Area has improved tremendously in the past 10 years though unemployment is high. We retired here and plan on staying here."
