    • Avery
"Quiet, nice neighbors. Safe area. Beaches, shopping, parks, good restaurants and access to trains into Boston within a 20 minute drive. "
    • Patricia B.
"I’m talking about my immediate area, I was very well Welcomed with a Welcome Here Party, did not know 1 single person, Truly felt like I was very much part of my Community! I think I was the last family to have that, Community Awareness Welcoming! Kinda sad, but Overwhelming for myself and family!"
    • Richie
"I’m just visiting but for all the time I’ve been coming here to visit I noticed that it’s a friendly neighborhood"
    • Geec24
"Norwell, is quaint town. Has all the feel of country living while still being close to the city. If you love neat quite, private living this the town for you. Plenty of outdoor space, nature walks in the woods, running, biking and hiking trails and only a short drive to the beach"
    • splashme79
"I grew up in Norwell, went to Norwell schools and I live there now. This is a wonderful place to raise your kids, walk your dog or explore a new silence and meditation practice. I have fond memories of playing in the woods and learning with excellent teachers. That said, the social scene revolves around youth sports; most professionals commute 1.5+ hrs into Boston each way in standstill traffic, civic engagement is low (who has the energy after commuting/shuttling the kids?); and the high taxes and mediocre Council on Ageing leave much to be desired. The lack of diversity lends Norwell a "safe" feel, as the lack of sidewalks and in-town activities leads to a pervasive loneliness. Boston for culture and the Cape for recreation are so close, but little public transport exists. The beaches in all neighboring towns have no parking for out-of-towners, so a day at the beach requires a 25 minute drive to Marshfield or Duxbury despite being only 5 miles from the coast. The roads are wonderful for biking to the ocean, and I often do, but I was (wisely) prohibited from walking or biking along the roads until well into high school due to inconsistent road maintenance, narrow shoulders and aggressive ex-Boston drivers. On the positive side, Norwell Farms and the South Shore Natural Science Center are increasing programming to fill the void in social connection. The South Shore YMCA in Hanover and other sports clubs can suffice as well. There are a few active local churches and Town Meeting is always entertaining, if only for arguing over taxes with the neighbors you only see once a year. This is a great place for quiet, self-sufficient people, and a beautiful place to grow up. "
