I went to this school for sixth grade, and it was horrible. I was bullied in front of not only my classmates but my own teacher. My teacher at the time had zero control over the students and really showed zero regard to my well-being when I was clearly being bullied right in her face. No one sticks up for anyone at this school! However, the only thing I did really like at the school was the library and the accessibility to two-world languages (Spanish and French). In a nutshell if you aren't a stereotype of "cool" to the students here they will treat you as less. I did meet some really kind people while I was here though.

From principal, to higher staff. Awful at one point the terminated all disabled programs and dumped those kids into regular classroom without warning to the parents. Then failing them but they weren't accredited then. You have to go to the school board and speak with the superintendent for any assistance. You get no say in your child's IEP plan nor the right to school bus transportation in Hopewell.

I believe that school should be a safe learning environment for students. Hopewell High School is not a good representation of my beliefs. DO NOT send your children here. As someone who recently graduated, I can confidently say that your child will have more success in their future being a crackhead than attending this school. The teachers are terrible, and the student engagement is worse. Although there is a select few who actually care for their students, the majority of the staff is only there for a paycheck. Not only is the education bad, but the cleanliness of the school is disgusting. While getting to my classes, I would commonly walk past insects and rodents. While I was in attendance, I was repetitively late to classes. I can’t even count how many verbal and physical altercations I would see between students. During these fights, hallways would be closed off, and often the school was put in a “hold in place”. Overall, this school is not a safe space for your students. All of the things I’ve shared have only been a handful of situations I’ve seen, but there are many more flaws with this school. With my four years in attendance, I can confidently say that you should not send your children here.
