5/10GreatSchools RatingParent Rating AverageMy daughter went here from k-3rd grade. I pulled her out because she was so far behind in math it was sad! I homeschooled her until she got to middle school. I DO NOT RECOMMEND this school. She had problems in every grade. Poor thing didn't even like kindergarten because she said the teacher called them dumb!Parent Review4y ago3 Reviews - Francis Scott Key High School

7/10GreatSchools RatingParent Rating AverageOur child attended September 2021 to June 2023, with IEP. They ripped apart their IEP, removed services, & disabilities and supports! Use extreme caution for your child/children! My child has complex medical and disabilities, they didn’t care one bit the harm they brought on her! Got an out of district placement, as our child refused to return to FSK, they followed them there and destroyed any chance of changes or repairs that could have been done to her IEP. The emotional and traumatization she endured is beyond unthinkable. They ended up on Home & Hospital 1/2 of a year full time, then continued half days on Home & Hospital til they graduated! We highly recommend families to think twice with placing their children at FSK that has a IEP, and with disabilities and medical conditions.Parent Review10mo ago4 Reviews - Northwest Middle School

8/10GreatSchools RatingParent Rating AverageThe teachers are wonderful, (most of them at least) but the general environment, fellow students, and some staff are horrible. I think there is a lot that needs to be looked at, such as issues with bullying and using substances underage. The general educational material is decent, I think the teachers mostly teach well. I just personally think they let students get away with way too much, and that things should be checked more often such as bathrooms because that is apparently where most students participate in inappropriate activities. This needs be looked into. Also the amount of discrimination from one student to the next about disabilities, race, sexuality, gender, and personal style is ridiculous. There needs to me more supervision and harsher consequences for students who constantly and relentlessly bully others. There is a also a issue with students harassing teachers, I don't know if this is a result of terrible parenting, or if the school doesn't enforce there rules hard enough, but either way disrespecting a staff member of any kind is awfully disrespectful for staff. In general I think the school could definitely have some improvement with guidelines, dress codes, and punishments. I believe that the dress code is purposely used on specific students more then others. Females of a lighter weight usually can get away with wearing crop tops and other revealing things. But for other female students that have an more to them often get told to pull their shirt down over their stomach and cover their shoulders. Male students also have more freedom in their clothing then female students do, such as the "No Spaghetti Straps" rule. This rule is ridiculous and needs to be removed. It is disgusting that the school board thinks that female students shoulders are "inappropriate" or such. It implies that students and possibly staff are sexualizing minors. There is also a problem with sexual harassment, as students will be followed, grabbed, or pushed into the bathrooms with little to no effective staff response afterwards. Overall this school, like many, has issues that result in learning struggles. This needs to be fixed. As a student at this school, I have heard and seen things that most staff don't thing twice about. Their are racial opinions as I have seen, with white students getting away with much more than students of color. Teachers also seem to punish students or yell at them for simply coughing, sneezing, etc. This needs fixing. Thank you.Other Review1mo ago8 Reviews - Check out schools near Amanda.

"I've lived here for 14 years, my kids grew up here. Good school zones. Kind neighbors, some you don't see much of, but rarely in all my years here have we encountered and issues. Very close to Kings Park and what we call the dog park which I think is actually named Bella Grove, right on the corner of Green St and Bond St. "

"I am very please with my commute to work as well as to convenient stores and shopping. Location and easy access to food and entertainment is important and Westminster provides that as well as my current location...however I miss my hometown of Frederick because there are more opportunities for children as far as community sports and activities.
