Since the magnet program and advanced studies have been emphasized, the school has become a beacon of light. Chatsworth was ranked the 23rd best high school in Los Angeles one place ahead of Sierra Canyon which cost over $35,000 a year. The list included the most prestigious high schools in Los Angeles. If they just took test results of the magnet program, they would have ranked top three and put $40,000 a year programs to shame. With the caring and supportive instructors who genuinely showed me they care about my child’s Success was refreshing. Don’t get me wrong. It is a lot of hard work and requires dedication. But the results are undeniable this program is making a difference in the students lives. If you hear the list of Ivy League schools that the graduating classes have been accepted to, you would be blown away. I look at programs like Granada hills and laugh because people don’t understand that because they are a full charter they can choose which kids tests scores to count and which not to and get great scores and ranch high BUT Chatsworth has to take the average of the whole school!!! Because the are a public LAUSD school! Let’s just call a spade a spade and call it like it is… pound for pound the biggest impact and improvement goes to Chatsworth. 10/10GreatSchools RatingParent Rating AverageI was discouraged from talking my sons teacher and my son is discouraged to ask the teacher questions- she told him to ask the other students. One day he asked the teacher to fill up his water bottle and was told to “tell his mom to buy him a bigger water bottle.” Lastly, he was being picked on by one other child repeatedly and nothing was done to help him. "I commute via car to UCLA. The traffic on the 118 is very light and the highway is easily accessible, but as soon as you get on the 405 the traffic is horrible "

"Porter Ranch has great access to local stores! I drive to school every day and get there and back very very fast. It is an amazing neighborhood and like I said has great access to all the local stores and shops. ;) "

"I used to live in this neighborhood and i lived in it for 8 years. It is really a great neighborhood! It is also a good place for taking hikes. There are hiking, biking, and walking trails everywhere in Porter Ranch. "

"It is always fun to go for a hike on the Limekiln Canyon Trail, which is also walking distance from the houses! We sometimes get farmers markets in the neighborhood but not much. Still, it is super fun to go to them every day! The houses are big but cozy and I will never forget how great Porter Ranch is. (There is also an amazing!- library there too, and it is very close to the houses. Just down the street!) "

"Very dog-friendly. Many people walking throughout the day, stopping by to say hello & talk about the dogs. Lots of coyotes and rattlesnakes in the area, so please keep the dogs safe-especially the smaller ones!"
