Staff need to treat students like young adults and not be so sensitive when a student asks why. Need to know the difference between disrespect and valid questions being asked. These students are still human beings at the end of the day and deserve the same respect they are expected to give.

I wanted to give a shout out to Alta Vista Elementary, their Principal and staff. My 2 grandchildren have gone to Alta Vista for 4 years now. Our experiences have been nothing less than great! From the Principal and office staff to the teachers and support staff! Their care and passion for guiding and teaching children has proven to be everything we as parents and family could hope for. Any concerns or suggestions have always been welcome by all staff and teachers. They truly are in it for the children attending Alta Vista. As with EVERY school, some may have concerns or questions. I say to you, ASK QUESTIONS, and GET INVOLVED!!! That is the most important thing you can do to be a part of your child's education! They are with out kids more waking hours than we are. We should be involved. There are so many volunteer opportunities. Get involved with your child's classroom activities, field trips and extra curricular activities. There is the PTO! Its run by parents that want to be involved and are a support system for both staff and students! Its a great opportunity for those that can't be at the school during school hours to volunteer. You can't complain unless you are willing to be hands on and involved in your child's day to day education. You owe it to your children. Every single interaction i have had with staff, be it concerns or encouragement has been positive! i am a hands on grandparent and want to be involved. i have always been welcomed! The Principal Ashley Vasconcellos has brought this school to the front with her ideas and hopes to take it to the level for students. She is always welcoming conversation and support for all. The office staff is helpful and positive to all families. They are the first people you see when you enter the school and they represent it well. The teachers truly care about students and I have never seen anything less than that. If you want to ensure your child's positive educational experience, be a part of it and get involved!!!!They will welcome you with open arms!!!Respectfully,Polly V

Very bad school to go to. A lot of teachers and staff members are mean and bully the children. Please don’t bring your kids here. I even heard from other teachers from high school saying this middle school is horrible for kids to go. They have a hard time dealing with the students from Palo Verde. Look at the reviews before sending your kids. It’s a very bad place. Also it’s always about money. Everyday cost to do anything. Which that isn’t an issue but they sure don’t give you a heads up. Teachers and principals are mean and don’t care what parents say. They are horrible with communication. But so quick to suspend your kids for no reason.
