6/10GreatSchools RatingParent Rating AverageThe school seems to be going down hill, and this school year (2013-14) sadly it is only picking up its speed. It is a good school overall with a good staff and the principle who is in her 2nd year here is showing more leadership than the previous one and is present. PTO has been struggling but this year's staff is great and active, I only have good things to say about them. The parents, on the other hand, have been so sub-par. Not to mention that we hardly see parent volunteers on campus but also the driving habits and parking lot behaviors are appalling. The school is going to be a dual language academy starting from 2014 school year, and I only hope that will being more enthusiastic, responsible and involved parents and families with real commitment to this school community.Parent Review12y ago12 Reviews - Kyrene De La Estrella Elementary School

6/10GreatSchools RatingParent Rating AverageThe school is great. I would have preferred 4.5 stars but 5 is fair. The teachers that we have encountered are compassionate and caring and the front office staff is also very kind. That is not to say that everything is perfect, as we have had issues regarding very very late bus drop offs and other administrative things like the office not calling or notifying for some things. However, the safety of the school, the communication from the teachers, and the academic rigor is what pushes me to give this school such a high rating. We are very grateful that our children go to this school and to see the progress our children have made in such a short time while being at the school coming from out of district has been very eye-opening- in a good way!Parent Review4y ago18 Reviews - Desert Vista High School

8/10GreatSchools RatingParent Rating AverageThis school doesn't care about the well-being of our students. They push academics beyond a reasonable measure. The pressure for AP classes creates a stressful environment with little focus on balanced schedules or mental health days. This culture contributes to high student burnout and visible stress levels, not getting enough sleep, not eating well, not having any time to do anything else. This school takes the fun away. Some of the teachers bully their students. The counselors don't show any support for their individual health, which is very upsetting. The counselors are selfish and are not helpful.Parent Review5mo ago26 Reviews - Check out schools near 3830 E Lakewood Pkwy #2042.

"Mostly friendly neighbors, mom and pop shops, not a lot of noise or traffic most of the time (unless there’s a holiday, special event, or construction). Has its negatives, but every neighborhood does. All in all a great place to live "

"I live in a gated community which can feel more like a prison at times. The warden doesn’t give us many special privileges...even for good behavior. We don’t have community get togethers, and our cars are towed from the streets if they’re there past midnight. 😩😢🤔"
