7/10GreatSchools RatingParent Rating AverageMy son has been attending this school for only a few weeks, since August 19,2015. He has already had 2 bullying incidents in which one of them he was punched on the collar bone and bruised. I am a majority involved parent, and I was promised by the principal that she would call me if ANYTHING happens with my son, and was not called when my son was assaulted by another student. The principal also threatened my son that he would be expelled if she saw him in her office again.Other Review10y ago5 Reviews - Poplar Avenue Elementary School

4/10GreatSchools RatingParent Rating AverageI have had my children attend pre-school as well as their beginning years in elementary school within the Thermalito School District. Yes, Mr.Diaz has been the Superintendent during all of my children's years in this district and I have been very happy seeing him numerous times on two different campus' and am appreciative that he is involved in each and every school site.Parent Review11y ago2 Reviews - Oroville High School

4/10GreatSchools RatingParent Rating AverageNot sure why this school has such a poor rating! Former student! Class of 2010! I was highly motivated and was very involved in a leadership club, FHA (Future Homemakers of America). I found lots of support from all staff involved in my 4 years at this school. I don't know about other students, but school is only what you make out it. If you participate and are highly motivated, then you excel in this school. Parents should get involved and be part of their child's education. Don't blame the school but fail on your part!Other Review2y ago4 Reviews - Check out schools near Avery Ct.

"Better to raise kids here than in any local city close by! Less crime and some good schools for any age group."

"Always supervise your children twenty four seven daily! No neighborhood is safe nowadays. The one thing I know for sure is that I don’t know anything for sure. The older I get the more I am sure of this."

"Nothing! Most dog owners are responsible for their dogs. I’ve seen very very few dogs no on leashes. We met some of our best neighbors and friends through their dog!"

"it's friendly and comfortable here. I like my neighbors and the area in general. I moved here after I lost my home in a fire and it is very immortal to me that I feel safe and comfortable. I am both of those things. "

"The schools aren’t the worst but even tho it’s a small town there plenty of trouble for kids to get into. On top of the transient issue. "

"can be a good area minus the huge rise of transients and the drug problems that came with them. I guess this is just the new norm for California "

"nice to have parks nearby where we can walk pur dogs but at the same , we don't feel safe taking our dogs to the park due to too many homeless people. also garbage is everywhere with needles, bottles, condom etc"

"There is not too much traffic so the commute is very tolerable. There is a decent amount of cars on the road but not to an extreme. "

"Other people’s dogs will attack your dogs if they get out. So if you would like for your pet to be safe then I wouldn’t walk it on our street. "

"Not sure if there is anything unique. It’s run down and there’s a lot of crime here. There is no effort to build this town up."
