7/10GreatSchools RatingParent Rating AverageWorse school ever! I’d like to point out that the principal and new vice principal are incompetent. They like to point fingers instead of understanding harassment and bullying. My kid was bullied and harassed in summer school going into 6th grade and continued 2 months into regular school. As a parent please report this school should they become unprofessional and lazy at their job. That is what we had to with the district and police department. Don’t settle with formality and keep tabs, otherwise they will over look your kid.Parent Review7mo ago15 Reviews - Potrero Heights Elementary School

10/10GreatSchools RatingParent Rating AveragePotrero Heights Elementary a recipient of the California Distinguished School is headed by principal Mr. Nadudvari is a wonderful school with excellent teachers and staff who all prioritize creating a nurturing environment conducive to both learning and personal growth. My children were fortunate to be in the classroom of Mrs. Acosta (5th grade) and Mrs. Avila (3rd grade). These excellent teachers were instrumental in helping my daughters meet their academic goals this school year. Additionally, other amazing/dedicated teachers my kids had while at PHE include: Mrs. Yip, Mrs. Chan, Mrs. Odama, Mrs. Pluemer, Mrs. Ibarra, Mrs. Mgrdichian, and Ms. Franco. I noticed that this year the 5th graders were an exceptional bunch of kids. Several students including my child received the Presidential Outstanding Academics Excellence Award. This year a PHE student won the Montebello School District Spelling Bee and also another received an award for Science and Engineering. Their All-Stars Afterschool program run by Ms. Rosa has been a great resource for families. My kids benefited from getting help with their homework. Through a diverse array of leadership activities and community programs offered my kids have thrived. In sum, Potrero Heights Elementary stands as a testament to the transformative power of education, where passionate educators and dedicated staff members work tirelessly to ensure every child's success. It's with full confidence and gratitude that I recommend this exceptional school to families seeking a nurturing and enriching academic environment for their children.Parent Review1y ago11 Reviews - Schurr High School

6/10GreatSchools RatingParent Rating AverageI have been a parent at this school for the last 7 years straight. Also an alumni that wanted their children at the school it’s been an absolute disappointment over the last 7yrs the school has had an increased, drugs, alcohol and kids have … on campus and in cars, students being bullied by classmates/teammates, When a teacher/coach was told of bullying that coach did nothing about and it’s still going on to this day. There is a lack of accountability for there actions at this school nowadays. If it wasn’t to the school having some teachers that care and teach the avid, Pathways and AP program's. I would have gave them the school a lower rating that’s why I’m, given are the reason why it has two stars. They handled the COVID the best as they could with the Constant changes. This is why I gave them an other star making it a total of three stars. They need to bring back detention suspension and expulsion because there are no longer any consequences for students actionsParent Review1y ago9 Reviews - Check out schools near 1765 Neil Armstrong St.

"Its has a corrupt city government. No businesses want to bring their companies to the city. The old mall is their only big attraction however it is old and outdated. "

"Very unfriendly neighborhood cause traffic problems by stopping their cars in the middle of the street, very poorly educated people and lawsuits, so I tried to get out of here soon. It is definitely not a good area to live much less if you have children who go to school"

"Nothing. It is full of people that seldom interact, seldom consider their neighbors. The city council is embarrassingly ineffective and no one cares that effective representation will not exist until elections are done by district."
