Description

JUST REDUCED - We would consider 1-24 month terms with discounts for longer terms. Available beginning April 1, 2026, fully furnished, partially furnished or unfurnished.

Hickory Heath has personality which our guests cherish. Comfortable and relaxing, the fully furnished and air conditioned house is a wonderful place to remove yourself from the world, unwind and reconnect any time of the year be it with your family, friends or a romantic weekend. Set on 16 acres, the house is an authentically restored family farmhouse.

This is a restored 1810 colonial farmhouse; not a fancy weekend retreat staged by a NYC/Hamptons decorator attempting to create a Hamptons country feel. It is an extremely comfortable country family home created by an owner with a long career at Ralph Lauren where classic creative authenticity is the mantra. The restoration included completely upgrading all electrical, plumping, heating and water infrastructure that includes 1 GIG WIFI. All the lighting being handmade authentic reproductions (most are electrified) of those found at colonial villages of Williamsburg, Sturbridge Village and Deerfield.

A gourmet eat-in kitchen adorned with finely crafted reproduction cabinets, a custom soapstone sink, disguised Sub-Zero Refrigerator along with a Wolf stove and all the equipment to make fabulous meals including Mauviel copper cookware while taking in the views over the fields to the rolling ridge in the distance. Relax in front of the fireplace in the library with one of the hundreds of volumes. In the living room, sink into the down filled couch and chairs that compliment a large fireplace while taking in the view over the fields and ridge through the almost full wall picture window.

The fireplaced master bedroom suite has amazing light with windows on three sides with great views over the fields and a 6 ft long clawfoot bath tub in front of a large window that offers the same. We continued on integrating antique or reproduction bathtubs and sinks with high end fixtures from Perrin & Rowe, Barber Wilson and Rohl. Another bathroom on the second floor has an antique earthenware bathtub that is also placed in front of a window allowing for a relaxing view out over the fields in addition to a steam shower that we attempted to hide.

The house evolved around our lives. Purchasing it when our kids were infants and with our enjoyment of entertaining adults, a young children's playroom is tucked in near the kitchen and dining room that has allowed for monitoring the younger generation. This room can also be furnished as an office or a 1st floor bedroom with close proximity to a full bathroom. The children's space evolved to a 3 additional rooms in the finished basement (an additional 600 sqft not included in the 3200 sqft living space listed) that includes an arts & crafts room, game room with a combination Ping pong/air hockey/pool table and an entertainment room with large television and player piano.

The house is situated within a group of large Sugar Maple and Shaggy Bark Hickory trees on 16 acres of which is cut into a large tract of land totaling a few hundred acres offering privacy. We have about 2-3 acres of lush lawn that includes a sports field with permanent soccer nets and a volleyball net. A horseshoe court and tetherball pole add to the outdoor sports. Hike through the field and into the woods on trails to the stream. A 20' x 26' bluestone patio with a large 10 chair dining table, 6 burner gas grill and Adirondack chairs is a great place to view the sun setting over the ridge before lighting a roaring fire in the 6ft diameter fire pit encircled with 8 large sitting rocks completing a relaxing dinner.

A large outdoor pool with many lap lanes, diving boards, a kiddie pool and tennis courts are located just 3 miles away at the Tymor Park. The 500 acre park has offers numerous other recreational facilities such as sports fields, playground, pavilions, equestrian center, camping areas, fishing pond, ice rinks in the winter, basketball courts, volleyball courts, and over 12 miles of hiking/biking/equestrian trails.

Lease durations - We would consider a 1 to 24 month lease duration with discounts for longer terms. Offseason from November 1 to May 15 is $5,200 per month. Beginning April 1, 2026, 12 -24 month lease $5800 per month. Short term rates vary by month ranging from $5000 to $9,000 per month. Summer months rental of June $7500, July & August $9,000. We may also consider weekly rentals.

"I’ve lived in and around Millbrook my whole life. I attended High School in Millbrook and currently work there. Everyone is kind, neighborly and very aware of their surroundings (which could be both a pro and a con) but it gives a sense of safety in the area. Small, quaint, and has a lot of character and history. There’s a local market, pharmacy, mini-mart, hardware store, bank, and several restaurants, including a diner. Kind of everything you need, all in one place!"
  • Taylor S.
"very far from chain stores about a 20 to 30 minute drive but its nice in a small town. almost everything you need is on main street"
  • Arianna M. J. M.
"People like when your dog stays in there yard and when you walk on them on a leash people are usually very friendly but they don’t like when dogs bark to much. "
  • Arianna M.
"Busy roads but most homes have a lot of land to run around. You can always just walk up deep hollow not many cars. Also could build a fence. "
  • WAYNESEPE60
"It's a quiet laid back area altho there is lots of road noise since the houses are parallel to the highway. Most of the families in this area have children that have left the nest so to speak, therefore this is an ideal retiree location."
