7/10GreatSchools RatingParent Rating AverageTeachers/staff at Kellar are WORSE than the students. They are more concerned with their image, titles, & PTO events than the safety, education & well being of the students. It’s a trickle down effect, so Kellar is not a bad school but there needs to be an entire new administration in order to turn things around because they operate as if it’s a prison instead of a middle school. There MAY be a few teachers throughout the district that have a real passion for teaching but the bad definitely outweighs the good here. It doesn’t matter how much they pretend to care & put on dog & pony shows there is absolutely NO desire for students to be successful to be human or be children. As soon as they show a human emotion or ask a question they are reprimanded for being disrespectful. They can almost NEVER talk at lunch, are forced to have silent lunches & behavior incentives are dangled over their heads until the kids don’t care anymore. I have never seen so many unhealed adults who take out their frustrations on children. Each time a complaint is made to administrators the students become a target and the teachers begin to nit pick with certain students. The staff/teachers are in cahoots with each other because nothing is ever really done to solve bullying & harassment it simmers down for a tiny bit then it’s back happening again because they take sides, making slick comments to the students as if they won’t tell their parents what goes on at school. Maybe its really some of the parents they are angry at or jealous of because there is no real reason on this earth for them to behave this way toward children. They have genuinely earned a negative reputation in the south suburbs. They really should be investigated on how the students are being treated & no telling what else goes on here. It’s so very sad because students should be able to go to school without all the nonsense, drama, manipulation & intimidation. Some of these staff members are just plain evil.Other Review11mo ago5 Reviews - Gordon School

5/10GreatSchools RatingParent Rating AverageBeen a resident in this school district since 2003 and seen positive evolvement over the years. The lower grade schools are decent. My eldest children attended in this district & are adults now(early 20’s). Back then, the normal things were happening with students. I believe that some of the best schools have issues & no place is perfect. However, there have been way too many incidents of bullying among other students which is unacceptable. Some teachers are even bullying & intimidating their own students. The way things are being handled by administrators, swept under the rug, nonchalant attitudes, teachers upset because parents have something to say, passive/aggressive behavior, tit for tat drama/pettiness with students, etc,. The pandemic is not an excuse but has definitely changed some people for the worst. It takes special individuals to be teachers esp nowadays, but certain things are not rocket science. Some people are just plain evil & it definitely shows in their behavior. Also, things being said by teachers students are telling their parents. It shows the lack of professionalism and how they want folks to hush and let them say/do whatever they want. Just plain sad how some teachers are uncaring, have no work ethic, & only work to get paid in the world today. I know that some students give teachers a hard way to go too sometimes but if it’s this bad change how things are handled. Be that change & example for your colleagues, don’t add to the nonsense. Now, there are some great teachers in this district & who love what they do and does show. Sometimes the negative experiences drown out the positive, but some things just need to be known.Parent Review4y ago5 Reviews - Childs Elementary School

5/10GreatSchools RatingParent Rating AverageI am overly ecstatic from the education my child is receiving from Posen Elementary, even though classes are being conducted online because of the pandemic. I cannot be more satisfied with what I am hearing when my child attending class online. The teachers truly care for their students and I can tell it is their main priority to see them succeed. After seeing the two reviews that brought this school rating down, I had to voice my opinion. I hope other parents begin to review this school so the rating will increase; you cant base everything on a one star review from 5 years ago. I would highly recommend this district to any of my friends, and I trust the education being provided to my child.Parent Review5y ago3 Reviews - Turner Elementary School

7/10GreatSchools RatingParent Rating AverageBremen has really gone downhill in the past 5-10 years due to the towns feeding into it declining. There are fights almost everyday along with students not caring about their education and trying to act “gangster”, A few highlights of the school is the staff caring about your kids education, even if they or their parents don’t care, along with it’s Special Education program they offer. I would suggest sending your kind into a private school if you are in this area Bremen serves.Parent Review2y ago7 Reviews - Check out schools near 15333 S Parkside Dr.
