Overcrowded TK CC program is atrocious. Child came from warm and high learning, high output pals program to an environment in which they maybe produced and brought home five worksheets all year. Classroom and kinderyard closed off, parents not welcome. Child’s skills and social emotional development plummeted here, teacher would not allow access to classroom but blamed parents for anything going wrong and for child’s social emotional backslide from being happy and friendly to scared to attend school. Teacher dismissed and minimized child’s experiences and anything negative the child reported back to home. “That never happened.” Child felt afraid of teacher, became very emotional, teacher dismissed feelings and blamed parents. Teacher provided no holiday or special occasion crafts or cards for children to give to parents. School programs were a shadow of what we’ve seen elsewhere, chaotic and poorly planned, a bad experience for even the kids. Teacher blamed parents for things they did wrong during school hours, including losing track of multiple children. Major inaccuracies in Iep, including child’s skills, major developmental milestones, and even which school they previously attended, in an attempt to heard more children into more sped programs. Teacher treated multiple parents with condescension and arrogance regarding their children’s progress and abilities. In speaking to multiple other parents, there was a feeling of being gaslighted by teacher, who clearly felt she has a much better understanding of the students than their own parents do. I highly recommend against this being your child’s early education start. It’s devoid of compassion and closed off to parents entirely, with the exception of 2-3 times a year for poorly executed events. Teachers constantly asked for donations from parents, a major difference from previous schools we’ve observed. We saw so much better at the pals school our child went to. These kids deserved a better experience from a teacher who values their insight and cooperation, rather than physically shutting them out and then criticizing them for things we were never allowed to even observe.
