"Homes are established, walking distance to bars, restaurants, some schools. You can go for a 3 mile walk without ever hitting a busy road. "
  • Joellen Hall
"I lived here a long time. I love Amherst it’s a nice community.small town. Good schools. Nice people "
  • Joellenhaun
"Good neighbor for dog walking. Very nice and places to put poop. A lot of friendly people and dog walkers "
  • Jsanti1995
"The people just meeting up and being friendly. Everyone knows each other which can be good and bad but its peaceful with hardly any issues that i have noticed so far."
  • Silas M.
"we usually see 5 to 10 people walking their dogs per day. Nice sidewalks and park. that is all I have to say but I need 100 characters "
  • Andrea M.
"Fast and easy. More than two routes to go which gives me flexibility. Route 2, route 90, the turnpike and route 58 and 57 are all close by.,if I worked in Cleveland the commute would be about 35 minutes, and I would not have a lot of traffic to go through to get to these major routes. "
  • Tframes66
"Long, full of traffic both coming and going because I work in Cleveland Ohio and take the Ohio turnpike"
  • Wintersnowkitty
"Dog owners should be aware that most rentals do not accept pets. Or there are monthly fees of $50 or more."
  • Ericerau
"The neighborhood loops around so you can go on a long walk without ever dealing with busy roads or intersections. In some cases you might not even have to cross a street. "
  • Leeena4
"Awesome little city with plenty to do. Lots of shops, restaurants, grocery stores. Very well maintained homes. "
  • Erc358
"Amherst has a small town feel, and is surrounded by other great communities. It’s relatively close to Cleveland and is a mix between her and suburban."
  • Tim D.
"I love downtown Amherst. It has the old small town charm, with many great restaurants including Cork's Wine Bar & Restaurant, Old Town Pizza, Ziggy's Pub, Quesadilla's, Hot Dog Heaven, Hastee Tasty Ice Cream and of course the Amherst Cinema. You can walk everywhere and there is also a great park for kids with a great playground and swimming pool."
  • youlolatme
"Lived in Amherst for 17 years. There is a great community and its a stones throw from the city of Cleveland. Lots of parks and a great school system. Its a great place to grow up and equally good place to grow old!"
