8/10GreatSchools RatingParent Rating AverageWe decided to move here after our homeschool, which is a half a block away has 85% of the kids bussed in which has resulted in bullying on the girl side.Merrill seems to be a great fit. Our daughter has made some great friends, seems to be thriving in school.Parents are involved. Those who complain are probably not involved.Of course, there are always some issues with teachers. One or two that don’t seem to want to be there. School leadership seems to be top notch and headed in the right direction. Our daughter’s education is thriving. For the reviewer who had a weird comment about the food? Who cares how you cut the pizza if you don’t like the food, pack their lunch. Just be happy that they are serving lunch to the kids.Like any middle school, my daughter has noticed smoking. But we taught her stay away from those kidsParent Review3y ago18 Reviews - South High School

8/10GreatSchools RatingParent Rating AverageThe positive portion of my review comes from the great teachers at Steele (home classroom and specials). The negatives include the principal’s handling of bullying. At first I thought it was just us, but according to other reviews, that doesn’t seem to be the case.Parent Review1mo ago17 Reviews - Check out schools near 148 S Emerson St #148-303.

"I ride my bicycle to work. Denver drivers drive too fast, but the narrow streets and decent bike lanes make it work okay."

"There’s heavy traffic and is apartment focused. The side walks are nice and wash park is in walking distance but unless you have a designated yard it isn’t incredibly dog friendly"

"Plenty of grass but owners tend to be sporadic about cleaning up after their pets. Watch where you are walking. "

"The best restaurants in town are all close by. Being walking/bike riding distance from Washington Park and the Baker district on Broadway are two huge pluses. I grew up in this city and genuinely love this area of Denver! "

"There are two little boys who play in the yard all day during the summer. It fills our neighborhood with laughter and squeals of imagination. It’s really wonderful. It is a busy street though for traffic!"

"Most places (if health codes allow) permit one to bring their dog inside. If they can’t allow them inside there’s usually some kind of accommodation outside."

"It’s a really pleasant place to live and to walk around. There are a lot of unique homes and big old trees. It’s relatively quiet and street parking is reasonable on most blocks. There are extreme luxury apartments in the area but most are modest and it’s possible to find affordable rent. "

"West Wash Park is a great area, as Denver has so many neat pockets it is only possible to be in one and centrally located to the others (Baker, Wash Park, Downtown, Cherry Creek; oh, and Highway 6 to the mountains!). "
