This is a short term winter rental lease for ski season, available Dec 2026-March 2027, with a minimum lease of one month.

You will have access to the entire house including the garage, except for a locked storage room for the full time owners on the basement level. The 3 season room must remain closed so that snow does not enter the home.

We have a high efficiency electric heat pump HVAC system. Electricity costs are not included in the rental and will be paid directly by the renter.

House Rules and Disclaimers:

This is a pet-free home. No dogs, cats, or other animals are allowed, even as visitors. Evidence of pets on outdoor security cameras or upon move-out will result in a minimum $500 charge to return the home to an allergy-free condition.

No smoking of any kind, including vaping and "smokeless" products is allowed. Evidence of smoking on outdoor security cameras or upon move-out will result in a minimum $500 charge.

Please note that our home is not wheelchair accessible or suited for those with limited mobility. Guests must climb a full flight of stairs to reach the main entrance of the house. Once inside, another full flight of stairs is required to access the bedrooms. Please consider these physical layout factors before finalizing your booking.

House Maintenance: Essential seasonal services, such as snow removal, plowing, and pest control, may occur during your stay. These vendors follow a regular schedule, though days and times can vary slightly depending on weather conditions. We will always give you advance notice of when they are coming. We kindly ask that you allow them to complete their work quickly so the property remains safe and accessible.

Damage: If something is damaged, please let us know right away. We value honesty and will work with you to find a fair resolution, whether the damage is minor or significant. We reserve the right to charge the replacement cost of any damaged item.

Wildlife: Our home is in a peaceful, rural lake area, so you may encounter insects, small animals, and occasionally larger local wildlife like bear, deer or wild turkeys. Please be prepared for nature during your stay and remember they are more afraid of you than you are of them. However, keeping garbage inside is a must for keeping animals from seeking food on the property.

Power & Internet Outages: Outages can occasionally happen in this area due to severe winter weather or regional utility issues. Because they are out of our control, we do not provide refunds for these temporary interruptions, but we will do our best to assist you and communicate updates from the utility providers.

Winter Weather & Vehicles: In the winter, there will be snow, ice, and occasional snowstorms. While our home has an attached garage to keep your vehicle clear of snow, our driveway is very steep. We strongly recommend driving a vehicle with AWD or 4WD to safely navigate the local roads and driveway. Please drive with caution and plan your travel accordingly.

There are outdoor Ring cameras throughout the property including the sheds, garage and front/back yards. There is a Ring Doorbell at the front door.

You will be given a unique keycode for the front door and automatic garage door for the duration of your stay. This code is not to be given out to persons not named on the lease.

And lastly, this is our home, not an investment property. We welcome you as a short term renter and hope you treat our home as you would your own.

"Very rural. Great mix of people who moved here in the past decade or so and people who grew up here. Lots of culture. Immense natural beauty. "
  • Kailynn C.
"I lived here for two years. It is quiet and has a little bit of everything for necessities. The park is great. There are Tennis Courts, a playground and a skate park that I grew up skating in. There is a pub, a diner and a pizza place in the center of town as well as two banks and a gas station. Lots of farms and minutes down the road from historic Copake Falls. Not far from Great Barrington. "
  • Melissa A.
"THere is plenty of space to walk your dogs. We have open fields and parks and sidewalks all over town"
  • Candi
"I have lived here for years. The town in the summer gets taken over by camp kids and city people. Locals are nice"
  • Melissa A.
"It’s a small quaint village where everyone knows each other. It is however quite always from anything resembling a city. We like it that way. "

Only 2 hours to New York City, it is also 30 minutes to the heart of Hudson, NY & Great Barrington, MA."

"What a charming and picturesque place. Close to NYC, Hudson and Great Barrington, MA. Also under 2 hours to Boston. Yet, still remote and secluded. Great hiking. Wonderful scenery. Home of one of the most beautiful state parks- Taconic State Park/Bash Bish Falls. "
