"It’s a clean and safe area since I was a kid in the 70s and 80s. The local Catholic grade school where I attended has closed but the neighborhood “rival” Catholic schools are still open. The public schools have also improved a lot since the late 90s and early 2000s, I think, due to return to practical policies. You’re surrounded by nice suburbs so if you have to live inside Chicago, OHare area is best bet. But if you want more urban feeling, it might be too suburban like. For little kids and back yards, it’s good. Then when they graduate from high school you can all move to yuppie gentrified areas. "
  • Trulia User
"There are a lot of dogs in the neighborhood and owners pick up after them. It’s a small neighborhood feel in a big city. "
  • Trulia User
"Dog owners like having plenty of space to have their dogs play or walk either around the blocks or in the park areas "
  • Melissa R.
"Close to 90, the blue line, bus routes, and O’Hare. Perfect for commuters to city or suburbs! Would recommend "
  • D23mal
"Park close by for walks. Plenty of other friendly dogs in the neighborhood. Pet resources galore and friendly neighbors. "
  • Jmoe94
"Easy access to train and sway. Close to shopping and restaurants. Even if there is some traffic easy way to get around once you figure out what routes are available."
  • Wendy_funk
"Safe neighborhood. Park, school, amenities not too far. Grocery stores within a mile. Not far from blue line. Most care about keeping up their property. Friendly people."
  • Jason M.
"This is easily one of the best neighborhoods in the city for raising a family. "
  • Rose O.
"Good mix of families and Retirees"
  • Jason M.
"An extremely safe and family-friendly environment. Oriole Park Elementary is one of the best elementary schools in CPS."
