4/10GreatSchools RatingParent Rating AverageI’m so disappointed in Rio Vista. I’ve had my son enrolled at this school since kindergarten and he is now in second grade. Every year he is moved around to 2 different teachers because the classrooms are overpopulated with 2 grade level of kids. For example… First grade teacher has half a classroom with kindergartners and the other half is first graders. That also happened the beginning of his second grade year. Of course, no one communicates to let us parents know what’s going on, just “oh Johnny or Susie are going to Mrs. So and So’s class now, 3 weeks after school started.” There’s teachers here who don’t care if your child is progressing and then there are teachers who aren’t helping your child progress but will tell you that your child has fallen behind. How are we supposed to know if you don’t guide us or tell us as soon as you notice a problem. Why wait until the school year is almost over? The principal has a nonchalant attitude about everything and don’t ask for her to review camera footage if there was an issue on the playground, because she will most certainly tell you she won’t be doing it. I’m so disappointed in this school. My son has started to hate going to school and is only in second grade. He cries because he thinks his teacher doesn’t like him and says he feels dumb. My heart hurts for any other kids that feel like this and I will definitely be pulling my child from Rio Vista.Parent Review3y ago17 Reviews - Apple Valley High School

5/10GreatSchools RatingParent Rating AverageThe school infrastructure is in bad repair. The gym and theater are in poor condition and completely inadequate for the needs of the student body. The majority of the classrooms are "portables" that have been in use for decades without proper maintenance. The brick and mortar sections of the school also leave much to be desired. There is an above average football stadium on campus if that sort of thing is important to your child. Other than that, this is an eyesore in a community already lacking in aesthetic features.Other Review3y ago7 Reviews - Sandia Elementary School

3/10GreatSchools RatingParent Rating AverageIm saying it how it is, This school sucks. the teachers are not teaching whats in the grade level and tend to teach below the grade level, the schools food leaves you with food poisoning, even the cucumbers give you food poisoning. There are kids who bully there and i cannot say the amount of times i have reported it and the school did not do anything, i never felt safe at that school and the overall experience sucked.Other Review2y ago8 Reviews - Check out schools near Boulder St.

"Very dog friendly. Have to be very cautious with small dogs because of the Coyotes that run around during daytime and at night."

"Tons of space if you choose to live here, for your dog to run around. But be mindful that there are many loose dogs so always make sure if you have livestock or small animals, that your fences have no holes and are reinforced. "

"The commute is good. Mostly senior citizens. So take your time. Not that much traffic until 4/5 when everybody is trying to get home. Out of 10 I'd say it's a 8. Thank you"

"Apple valley has successfully wiped out all of the history in our town. The town used to be a great place to live but it has gone down hill for sure"

"Nothing unique! The city doesn't want to address problem, they just like to tear down historical buildings. The police don't show up when you call, especially for loud parties after midnight or fireworks being shot off at all hours of the night, even though they are illegal here and a huge fire risk"

"We are remote rural, it's almost a mile to main highway. Too far to walk. But just a short drive. Hot in the summer - over 100 and really cold in the winter, in the 30's at night! "

"I’ve lived here for eight years and have enjoyed every one. Great location. Near Big Bear, and well on your way to Las Vegas. Newport Beach is ninety minutes away, and LA an hour. Area still has room for growth so it isn’t crowded, and the planning seems to be accounting well for population expansion."
