7/10GreatSchools RatingParent Rating AverageI am not impressed. Understaffed and overworked of the staff they do have! I have two children at this school and both are having very different experiences one mostly positive and the other mostly negative. The teacher will make or break your daily experience. The first semester is coming to an end and overall, I am seeing less teaching and so many assessments. The kids have multiple tests and quizzes weekly. There is so much focus on test scores and prescribed curriculum that I feel the teachers don't have the space to slow down when needed and help the kids learn. The fun in learning has been stripped out of these classrooms. The administration is overworked. They don't return emails, phone calls and getting a meeting with them is not timely. If you have special needs, IEP or a 504, they do not have the staff to support this. Look elsewhere if you have that option! Discipline at this school for poor classroom behavior (talking) is taking recess away. Very old school thinking. When my kid was being bullied the administration acted quickly to have a meeting but actions out of that meeting were very slow to act on. Additionally the bullying behavior on the bus was deemed "out of their control". I feel the positive reviews on this school are of years past or from people who have never experienced other schools so they don't know what they are not receiving.Parent Review1y ago - Ooltewah High School

4/10GreatSchools RatingParent Rating AverageHonestly this school might not be the best in the world, but its not nearly as bad as it’s made out to be. All that is needed to do good at this school is apply yourself. The teachers do a great job, and I have been able to maintain a Grade average of 98.9 and get A’s on finals in APs. All you have to do is try. It’s an overall great high school experience if you want it to be.Student Review3y ago - Sequoyah High School

9/10GreatSchools RatingParent Rating AverageBy far, this school is the only way to go in Chattanooga. These students are college ready before they complete their 9th grade, and they are living breathing college from day one. Absolutely no other school on this side of the state comes anywhere near the test scores or graduation rates. And a nice plus - the leadership and staff are a pleasure to work with. They know their stuff and treat our children as if they were theirs. I've looked to relocate with my job to other states, and I can tell you that a program this good is very, very rare indeed. This one school is worth staying here until they graduate and in the U of Tn system for another two years at least.Parent Review5y ago - Hamilton County Virtual School

3/10GreatSchools RatingParent Rating Averagesame as everyone else. There are problems with the high school they don't really teach they just yell at the kids they just have a very boring "do this" and never actually get any learning.Parent Review1y ago - STEM School Chattanooga

8/10GreatSchools RatingParent Rating AverageFor the 2015-2016 school year I have been extremely pleased with STEM school. The principal and staff members actually want their students to succeed. The class sizes are small, students take ownership of their work and other responsibilities, and the environment is exactly what I wanted for my son.Parent Review8y ago - Check out schools near White Oak Valley Cir.
