It is very easy to communicate with teachers, staff, and administration. Having currently around 450 students total for grades k-12, it is easy to get to know each other, spend one on one time with teachers, and enjoy smaller class sizes. I was warned by someone in Tucson that they focus only on test scores. Not true. While they are focused on some things that are less appropriate. Like do they fill out the chart for reading over if they actually do the reading. It's been the best experience for all three of my kids. One with special needs, one with advanced needs, and one just completely overwhelming. The school has accommodated all of their needs even social emotional. The front office staff is by far the worst part — unprofessional, rude, and openly judgmental. They’ve made inappropriate comments to students and even gossiped about children in front of parents. They also have Engineering and Drama as electives, and she is interested in both. Her math skills really took off last year under her Algebra teacher. She is interested in her electives, or she'd have joined the Corvis Academy, which is a serious college prep cohort. His counselor listened to what his goals after high school are and suggested this route and I am so grateful! We went to an event at the high school called the Halloween Festival that is student run. All I can say is that I wish all the big events I go to were run by Andrada students! What a great turn out and event!
