"I will not mind giving a listening ear to the people in my neighborhood and be loving to them despite what is the situation"
  • Fernando Llajaruna
"Good area good schools, parks and supermarkets well lit at night and most important it’s a very safe neighborhood."
  • Diana Jaquez
"Buses are local. Local trains are about 20 minutes away walking. Or Buses can take you to nearest subway about 10 minutes away. LIRR is also about a 30 minute walk. "
  • Anna
"It’s not getting better, it’s actually worse than it was 25 years ago when I moved here. A lot of homeless people and a lot of air traffic right above my house, I want to move out "
  • Tracy Ortega
"Family oriented neighborhood but if you rent an apartment at one of these two family homes you are treated as NOT A HOMEOWNER and my son received an unwelcomed experience once the families saw that his father was black. It was so weird experiencing that "
  • Trulia User
"Farmers market every Sunday on Austin street . Forest hills stadium closeby for music entertainment and concerts. Austin street has tons of restaurants. "
  • Trulia User
"Easy access to public transportation. There is either a MTA train stop, the Long Island Railroad station or multiple buses that run through as well as around forest hills. The traffic isn’t as bad during peak times of the day and there are police officers who direct and control traffic in most of the busy streets/ intersections. "
  • Trulia User
"A lot of dog owners in the neighborhood. Plenty of dogs in dog park and many places to run and excerise"
  • Trulia User
"the neighbourhood is very safe to raise children. There are many schools spread across the entire area. especially 3k and day care"
  • Trulia User
"My commute into Manhattan is long. About 2+ hrs round trip. With construction it can be eve longer. There’s no easy way "
  • Trulia User
"People don’t pick up after their dog. More public safety should be out and about to fine those people."
  • Trulia User
"No parks for dogs. No doggy parks. Flushing meadow park is nearby which is huge. There is a doggy park there."
  • Trulia User
" nothing. it just a really nice area to live in. store are very close. TRANSPORTATION CLOSE "
  • Trulia User
"lots of poop on the sidewalks and trash, but not to many people walking on the side streets also not enough trash cands to throw away bagged poop in"
  • Trulia User
"Easy to commute. Metro Sub way and Bus stops are all around in walkable proximity. Need to know the use and timings of public transport. normally you feel safe on walk and shopping. Lots of restaurants and shopping centres nearby. Very lively place. "
  • Trulia User
"good for commuting, but nothing to do in the area and poor restaurant choices. not well maintained public spaces and the subway on the night and weekends is always not working correctly"
  • Trulia User
"Residents throw garbage everywhere, and unfortunately most dog owners here don’t pick up after their dog"
  • Trulia User
"Good schools. Safe to have children walk by themselves. Very family Oriented. Many things nearby in the neighborhood "
  • Trulia User
"Street fairs and farmers market, parks and shopping areas, a lot of diversity in food, people and religions."
  • Trulia User
"Nothing makes this neighborhood unique , I take that back the some of its nasty dirty residents makes this area unique. They don’t clean after themselves, are rude , and a ton other things that I’ll just leave out."
  • Jannie
"I see lots of people walking their dogs here. Although there’s no grassy spots to walk the dogs, the side walks are OK and relatively clean. "
  • Phyllus M.
"About 10 minutes walk to the closest 67th Ave subway station. 20 minutes walk to Forest Hills LIRR station, it takes 15 minutes train ride to Penn station. There are only M and R local trains at this station, which is fine most days. And there is Q60 right on Queens Blvd, I would say the commute in this neighborhood is quite convenient if the subways run on time. But it’s the problem of the entire subway system, not only in Rego Park. "
  • Kristine.ann
"lots of dog owners in area, all friendly and most of the time clean up after their dogs. good community for dog lovers"
  • Aquarius56220
"I lived in this neighborhood for more than 10 years and I do like the shopping area . They have a lot of options and also different types of doctors that you may need."
  • Kristine.ann
"Rego Park is central to everything. Public transportation is close and almost always running on schedule. It’s also close to major highways for car drives."
  • Phyllus M.
"This is a very safe neighborhood with good schools nearby. Close to subway and LIRR. There are plenty of shopping area. Close to shopping mall and 2 subway stops from Queens Center Mall. Close to Forest Hills, plaenty of restaurants. Forest Hills LIRR station, 15 mins train ride to Penn Station. Close to Corona Park, there is a beautiful lake and BBQ area, US Open is in the park as well. "
  • Tinien
"Diverse ethnic backgrounds and restaurants. Multiple stores to shop. Multiple bus and subway lines. "
  • Melissa
"Not many apartments in the area allow dogs. Not a lot of green space for pups to run around since it’s a busy shopping district."
  • Codymasino
"Nothing special going on here. Normal city living. Not really family and children friendly. ........."
  • Chrissutiknosharp
"It looks like a lot of people in one spot Making a lot of noise but the neighborhood is really quiet and everything is so easy to get to. "
  • Tamiko B.
"Rego Park is an ok place to live. There is a ton of new construction so my fear is that it will soon become overcrowded and there will be drain on resources. Single family homes are being torn down and converted into multi unit building which is causes less parking, crowded sidewalks and long lines in the supermarkets and neighboring stores. There are several projects in development now so I can only imagine what things will be once they’re completed."
  • Maytylerny
"It’s a safe, family-friendly neighbourhood. Not much going on in terms of food or nightlife so a bit boring but it’s fine."
  • Darianny G.
"I being living here for 5 years, is really nice and clean and most important is a safe neighborhood "
  • Tamiko B.
"Great neighborhood but it’s getting very congested due to all the new construction. Neighbors are ok, can’t complain but not particularly neighborly either. Very convenient, close to everything you’d ever need."
  • Kamilla K.
"There are many families live in here with small children. A lot of green space and pretty clean. Most important it’s secure and calm in are I live."
  • Smerendini
"Events in Forest hills with food and music weekly in the summer. Great atmosphere and family friendly! "
  • Mlikhail S.
"Been loving in this neighborhood for 20 years now, almost everything is near by, groceries, you have the Rego center mall, not to far away queens center mall, trains and buses are close, this neighborhood has been growing since I've been living and it still grows new stores new restaurants opening up. "
  • Eddy
"I live here a and I love it. It convenience and close the train, to the mall, safe to walk and move around ."
  • Zavnona
"Safety. Very nice and safe place to live. Public transportation is very good established. Has a lots of good stores. Rego park is unique place we have all kind of ethnic groups."
