My child has been at this school already for 3 years and love Buena Visa Elementary. She is receiving quality instruction and attention from the teachers, and the class environment is stimulating and friendly. My daughter has excelled in her academics, but also in her social and emotional skills at this school. There is nurturing and supportive environment, where kids feel safe and stimulated to learn and explore. The facilities are nice and even getting better, as the district is doing some renovations to campus, which we appreciate. The English/reading/writing curriculum is very strong. There could be a bit more advanced approach to math and the sciences, but I till think the teachers are doing an amazing job. There is a good balance of teaching/learning and testing. The students receive a fair amount of homework. I love that there is a free lunch and snack provided to everyone every day, but I'd love to see more healthy options on the menu. It would be also nice if there were more afterschool clubs available, especially ones that are not sports - e.g. Math fun club, chess, foreign languages, etc...

Sadly, I went to the school and when I went to the school, it was not how it currently is. They fired the most amazing teacher to ever step foot on the campus a couple years ago and I knew I shouldn’t send my daughter there when that happened. But I sent her anyway hoping for a good experience. The principal is woke spineless solace and so is a superintendent. They have chosen to put children in danger by supporting protest against ice and allowing these children to leave the school campus even though it is breaking a Supreme Court law, the principal blamed the superintendent and the superintendent blamed the principal there is no responsibility or acknowledgment of wrongdoing here I have not been called back emailed back or responded to no questions of mine wherever answered, and they both were completely dumbfounded by my inquires of safety. The teachers have no control over the students and my daughter has let me know that multiple times the teachers have to call in the principal and vice principal to have control over their kids. Don’t you think that means that these teachers are not equipped to work with children? It’s been an awful experience and we’re not even done with the first year. My daughter will be finishing this year out and then leaving for a private school. There is no way I’m putting my child in harms way for another year.

Not very good and explains and easily engaging Vice principals like to find any reason to be mad at a student no student safety feels like the don’t want connection with students
