4/10GreatSchools RatingParent Rating Averageso i want to start the review by talking about the worst category which is safety there are fights happening very often (every week/2 weeks), and threatening happening even more to the point where a lot of students that I know had to transfer schools. i don’t believe that they’ve ever expelled anyone it’s like so many people do not get harsh enough punishments and i don’t like discipline and lots of rules as a student but like this school has basically none zero no accountability also the work is always way too easy i say this as i would like to say a slightly advanced person i can read and write really well but other classes too just seem to easy and one of my teachers literally like babies us it’s so weird and we’re almost never challenged everyone i know has all grades over 80 which is good until you realize that all the work is easy and there are some hard parts but overall it just needs some work and also they need to offer more advanced classes to give students a challenge the only thing they have is “accelerated math” and also you can take algebra 1 in 8th grade but that’s literally it and if ur gifted then idk you probably get some special education but they need to offer more subjects for advancement anyways im not in sped and idk anyone with sped but i heard it’s pretty good now to the building itself lots of damage is done and nothing is being fixed also the parking pick up and drop off stuff needs lots of work also all we have for parent stuff is the pto and thats it im pretty sure this school hates parents also the students here many are homophobic and say racial slurs which is honestly crazy but little punishment for this and pe class is bad the teachers aren’t good except for one i wont get into names but also the principal and vice principal’s leadership is weak and they’re honestly giving out unfair punishments back to pe class pe and health is combined and we have health for 3 weeks and learn nothing from it and the teachers don’t do anything about bullying and shaming other ppl in pe but care too much about gum like they will scream at you for it and back to safety it takes like 5 mins to break up fights and honestly the principal and most management are really shallow and just feel so emotionless like robots classrooms still have really old equipment and walls are like chipped and a lot of lights don’t work around the school and it’s been that way and they honestly have more expectations that are never enforced than actual rulesStudent Review5mo ago6 Reviews - Westfield High School

"Great safe neighborhoods surround this area. The majority are older and friendly. New great younger families have been moving in which is a breath of fresh air. Over all very welcoming. "

"It is a nice neighborhood for walking or riding your bikes. It is safe for older kids to walk or ride reasonable distances in pairs or groups during the day. "

"People are always walking their dogs and most residents own a dog. Recommend a fence as there are foxes, fisher cats and other wildlife. "

"It's congested getting from the Southern outskirts of town to the Pike but on the North end it's a snap. Traffic gets congested here as many folks use Westfield as a thru-way to access the hill towns and the town's in general that border Westfield."

"I drive my own vehicle on the Mass Pike to get to work daily. There is no public transportation option that is viable to get me from Westfield to where I work in Springfield. there is a bus system but it would take over an hour and several transfers. Westfield is a community where you need your own vehicle. "

"There a frequently free concerts on the “greens” in the summer. Which is the center of town. They also do seasonal celebrations as well. There’s a farmers market on Thursday. We host a very large 5K run/walk every year. And of course there Stanley Park! "

"We have dogs in our neighborhood. Everyone is very friendly. Our neighborhood gets busy during the day as our street is used as a shortcut. There are times when vehicles and motorcycles drive too fast down our street that has lots of children."

"I've lived here for many years & great neighbors who "look out for" each other. Nice state park with beach nearby & shopping plaza... LOTS of pond (Hampton Ponds) nearby. There's a bit of "country" feel, but city convenience!"
