The teachers love teaching and they go to great lengths to assist students. Students show the CHS Way on campus. The staff is caring, creative, and empowering.

This is my son's first year at Hohokam. I am shocked and have come home crying several times from all the love and support I have received from this school!!! The school he attended last year for kinder wasn't academically proficient & would not help me with speech therapy because he wasn't "the worst". He has ADD/ADHD and was developing a low self esteem. This year in 1st grade he started out VERY behind in Hohokam (very high on academics). Within the first two months his teacher, Mrs Valencia; got him signed up for reading assistance, he is now getting speech therapy, his self confidence has improved, he's carrying books around everywhere!!! Instead of taking a negative approach they are fighting for him to get caught up and receive the best education possible. The office staff is so warm and loving you can feel it in your core.... They told me that it takes a village... I haven't come across one person that isn't amazing!!! They've even done 2 fundraisers to help a single mom who was in a horrific car accident & another family that had a house fire! I've never experienced anything like this. THANK YOU HOHOKAM!!!

i am a sophmore and i did SOL my freshman year and am still doing it now. i originally just did it because of covid but now it's kind of stayed. My parents like that I am doing this program because it's easy to get good grades. The stuff is super simple and you're allowed to use your notes for the assessments. It was easy last year when our finals got canceled because of covid but not this year! when we had finals, I wasn't prepared at all because of this and I didn't do good on those tests. also, you are always feeling over pressured. it's SO easy to get caught behind, everyone always turns in their stuff like a week late. they're lenient but you are not learning much. also, there's no school activities or events where the online students can do something fun. kind of sucks which is why I want to go to back to school next year. also...teachers are horrible. they never help, like EVER. they never reply to emails and then say "they never saw it" when I double send it. they never help you with assignments and give you bad grades and then don't even tell you what you got wrong or why they gave you that grade. i had to get separate tutoring since they do absolutely nothing and there's pretty much no way to communicate with them. overall, I don't recommend, like yes, you can get good grades, but you can also get good grades with regular school if you try hard enough and there you can actually have teachers u can physically talk to.
