Eddy Elementary School is an excellent school with an inclusive, positive educational environment and a true sense of community. Our son has special needs and was struggling both academically and socially when he entered Eddy Elementary. From the start, the principal was very accessible, listened to our concerns and ensured that a talented team of teachers were in place to support his needs and help him succeed in school. While at Eddy Elementary, he has acquired many new skills and exhibited significant academic progress. With teacher support and encouragement, he has grown from initially being withdrawn, anxious, easily overwhelmed and not participating in classes into a more confident, successful, active participant in class across all school settings. We are convinced that his academic and personal growth are due in large part to the dedicated and talented teachers together with the well-planned, cohesive program developed and implemented by the school to address and support his areas of need. The entire school staff have gone above and beyond our expectations and have made a significant, positive impact on his growth, self-esteem and success.

I graduate in a month from Nauset regional middle school and each year I’ve gone here I’ve had worse and worse mental health. In all three years I’ve been here, communication with my family has been worse and worse. In 6th grade I gave my own honest review of the school to a parent and was given lunch detention and banned from all clubs for the rest of my 6th grade year. In 7th grade the schooling got much better but this year, in 8th grade I’ve had many ups and downs. I’ve had my own freedom of speech taken away from me by the principal without any mention of it to my guardians. Plus not to mention it, my friend has had racism thrown at her by one of the schools sports faculty, which resulted in her mother being banned from attending her games and slowly she was also kicked out of her team. My other friends have also had problems, relating with a few teachers which are never held accountable for their behavior. But I must say most teachers have been very helpful towards me, but I can’t speak for all in this school. Must I also mention the greed of Nauset? We have to pay to enter most of our activités like dances, graduation, plays, etc. They mask it by saying it’s a ‘donation’ or ‘optional’ which it is the complete opposite. I have been restricted from entering a school dance unless I gave in to a 5 dollar donation. Plus they cancelled the Washington trip which I’m quite salty about but atlast, I can’t do anything about it. Another thing I would like to tell, is that my mother also went to Nauset Regional Middle School. She also had quite an awful experience with it. She had been verbally humiliated by students and teachers yet no one would do anything. But then again, that was years ago, it couldn’t get worse right? Wrong. Through my years here, me and my friends have been yelled at for, what? For being children. We’ve been yelled at for laughing, being off task for a few moments, and standing up? All of these either in the hallways or during lunch. We aren’t very loud I would say, as others are way louder yet never get yelled at. Plus not to mention both me and my friends have tried taking our own lives and let’s say, have hurt ourselves from the pure lack of help and communication in Nauset. Now, I shall mention our current principal/vice principal, both of which have been terrible with dealing with special need children, the principal, which has told my guardian I should be put in a mental hospital. Which is exactly what you should say. Thank you.

Nauset is by far one of the best public schools on the Cape, I have never been more accepted and more welcomed than I have at Nauset. The teachers have very interesting and different ways of making subjects open the minds of the students. Some of these noteable teachers include: Mrs. Lum, Mr. LaBranche, and Mr. Swin! Such teachers can revolutionalize the way one looks at the world, or in some cases just a format of an essay!
