3/10GreatSchools RatingParent Rating AverageThis has been a great school and a great experience for my son. Everyone here is welcoming, down to earth, hardworking, humble and have a great sense of community. Despite having a high ratio of ESL learners their test scores are are quite strong, which shows the effort that staff and teachers put into their students. My son has found the curriculum to be too easy and school a little boring. I also think kindergarteners shouldn't have so much homework but I guess they wouldn't have the high grades they do without it. "DRO is a solidly middle-class town located between Monterey and Seaside. Located in the Peninsula's sunbelt, DRO enjoys a microclimate to gladden a gardener's heart, with plenty of sunshine. It's close to Fremont Avenue, which offers grocery shopping, paint stores, sporting goods, gas stations, and some restaurants. Homes are post-war era and many have been updated. The town is well-kept but on-street parking is rampant, which is not attractive. Home prices tend to be significantly lower than in neighboring Monterey but higher than its other neighbor, Seaside. Very safe area."
