They've been great in their response to the pandemic and effective with the communication and community support.

My kindergartener is reading, spelling, and doing simple math. I am amazed at what he has learned at such a young age. The school is also teaching good life skills and morals. (Falcon 4). Would fully recommend.

If your student is anything beside a typical learner, just expect your child to be targeted as a “problem” by teachers. It took over a year of asking for supports, being told my child’s grades were “too good” for an IEP review, and being hobbled at every opportunity in trying to pursue social-emotional support- being told they “can’t” move classes, and teachers flat out stating they want to help, but my student makes it too difficult.They put my student in a small group of other “problem students” with the German teacher (why not a guidance counselor? Beats me) during WIN to “talk about their feelings” and assigned them a behavior chart they had to have each teacher fill out every day. My student has trouble completing their regular work- how are they now supposed to do this, too? I was not made aware of any of this and I let found out during a breakdown at home over workload. Ignored by the school when I asked why/what/how/who.Nothing is done about bullying besides putting them in a room with their bully and making them “talk it out”. Perfect, so now the victim can get more targeting for being a snitch. There’s no better way to ensure victims shut up.Teachers operate in the 90s- don’t update their PowerSchool/Schoology for sometimes 2-3 weeks, lots of handouts that never have a Google doc link posted in case it’s lost, refuse to send you (the parent) a copy of the assignment - “I’ll give it to the student”. It’s 2024. Are we preparing kids to be adults in the real world? Or are we clinging to traditional lesson plans bc teachers “don’t do computers”? It’s embarrassing, frankly.Over all just a very difficult school to work with, I understand Middle Schoolers can be nightmares, but they won’t even work with parents who are involved and want to work together for a positive student outcome. I get the feeling they dub all parents who don’t have perfect children “THAT parent” and treat you as such, and many of my fellow MS student parents feel the same way. I’m not sure how it compares to other districts, but this is my sad experience. Thankful for it to be over.
