"Dogs on leashes. Not allowed at the beach which would be nice. No dog park, but great walking paths. "
  • Bryce P.
"This is a unique neighborhood and I enjoy all of the parks and places and people and things that are available to me in my neighborhood. It really is truly home! "
  • Pete H.
"Not enough sidewalks and the cars are always speeding. Downtown is fairly dog friendly, yet I don’t understand why pets are not welcome at the farmer’s market; at least nobody enforces the rule."
  • Ashley B.
"Not enough access to public transportation. No busses, train stops, pick-up areas. Not enough sidewalks on busy main road areas. Including Chesterfield road, Lovers Lane, Roxbury through Corey Lane/Riverview, Upper Pattagansett through Ancient Highway, Bridebrook Rd. , Plants Dam, Dean Road area. Should all be accessible easily on foot. "
  • Ann L.
"I work from home and do not commute. Getting around locally is easy. Easy access to I-95, I-395 and Route Nine. Short distance to beaches, shopping. "
  • RileyG
"People here are mostly gentle and kind. My cat went missing once and the community exploded with kind words and support. Always plenty to do between Rocky Neck, the boardwalk, and all the cozy shops and parks. Beautiful scenery at all times of year. We moved here during the winter and the cute little street lights on Main street were done up like we had stepped on the set of a Hallmark movie."
  • K. K.
"Celebrate East Lyme/fireworks, Christmas parade, weekly farmers market, summer carnival, live music at the beach. "
  • Suzanne.allison
"Easy access to 95 and 395 makes commuting on the shoreline and upstate really easy. Traffic can be heavy in the summer but it’s worth it to live in such a nice place. "
  • Soxgirl4ever.db57
"Close to local beaches , shops and school , neighbors are friendly , best place to live in Connecticut ,"
  • Zlkatie
"Niantic is a cute town! Great schools. Positive yoga studio. Small and quaint cafes. Lots of community programs for kids. "
  • Phheaney
"Over 30 minutes Good access to highway. Good access to mall. Needs better access to rail. One hour to two airports. "
  • Lizkhenry
"Car necessary. Way up on a hill. Could never get around without a car. We love it here ( only been 10 months) but it is a little small and isolated. "
  • Lizkhenry
"We live in a tucked-away community that is close to Niantic but not easily within walking distance. We’re too high up on a hill and too far away from anything significant not to have a car. "
  • Jessica H.
"Movie nights, holiday events, whether or not you know the person, a hello and casual conversation always happens. "
  • Cesarlgallegos
"nice area so nice quieter neighbor pice full nice school if you have a family I'm really quiet place to live I love it is so nice close to supermarket"
  • Patsyfowler67
"We have two large off-leash exercise areas, but dogs need to be under voice control. Dogs are welcomed!"
  • Patsyfowler67
"Lots of dogs, all friendly, with plenty of places for dogs to exercise. Most people are very dog-friendly as well, and dog owners are considerate about cleaning up after their dogs."
  • Patsyfowler67
"People walk their dogs—always on leash—and I’ve never met an unfriendly dog or handler. We also have a swimming area that’s dog-friendly. It’s a good place for nice dogs and nice people."
  • Trivium1692
"It's by the beach. What could be better. Quiet in the winter. Busy in the summer. Has all 4 seasons. "
  • Judith k. a.
"I grew up in this neighborhood and thenbought a house here. Most neighbors have been here since I was small. I can walk to town or to the beach"
  • Paul O.
"Great place to live. Nice quiet community with great beaches."
  • katrina1968
"Cute little beach area. Private beaches are not huge but do the trick. The beaches are on the river not the sound. Not all pet owners are courteous with cleaning up after their pets. Making changes such as fencing or a carport are next to impossible due to zoning regulations and neighbors making a big stink. Who wants to live with that?"
  • RJM857
"A lovely and safe community with tennis, golf, boat slip and beaches. Peeps are screwing with this site. It's not even near the train track! Million $ homes to cottages. One way in and out-no crime at all-ever! Stone wall entrance that winds bordered with hiking trails and water views of Niantic Bay."
