8/10GreatSchools RatingParent Rating AverageWhile this school covers the basic academic requirements for an elementary education, it unfortunately falls short in creating a warm, enriching, and memorable experience for children. Since the arrival of the new principal, many families have felt a noticeable shift in the school’s atmosphere. The leadership style has been described by many as harsh and unapproachable, which can make open communication difficult for both parents and students. A positive and welcoming tone from administration is especially important at the elementary level, and sadly, that seems to be missing. What’s even more disappointing is the lack of experiences that typically make elementary school exciting and special for young learners. Field trips, performances, family events, and other creative activities have been drastically reduced or eliminated. Prior to the pandemic, the school hosted regular performances by each grade, special events like a Mother's Day fashion show, and more opportunities for parent involvement. Currently, my child has only one performance per year, held in May, featuring out-of-season songs from Halloween and the holidays. This hardly captures the joy and variety that should define these formative years.Additionally, classroom sizes are a growing concern. My child is in a 4th-grade class with 36 students and only one teacher, an overwhelming situation that likely impacts both learning and classroom management.Overall, this school needs a leadership change and a renewed focus on bringing back the magic, creativity, and community spirit that once made it a vibrant place for young children. Our kids deserve more than just the bare minimum, they deserve a school experience that sparks joy, creativity, and connection.Parent Review7mo ago15 Reviews - Check out schools near 95 Cloudcrest.

"Stations with potty bags. More sectioned areas in parks for dogs to run around vs the dog park which my dog won’t go to because of the wood chips. Dogs prefer grass so I typically end up taking him off hours to a park. "

"Unfortunately, there’s too much of an older crowd here that even if it’s not your dog barking, they’ll report everyone who owns a dog of a noise complaint. "

"People who live in high density expect there neighbors to not be seen or herd. They are not very neighborly. I used to live in RSM and they were friendlier and a better sense of community. "

"Great city! Safe, clean, great school, nice parks and trails, great shopping centers, nice weather, beautiful scenery,, and much more. If I can chose would live here all my life. I just love Aliso viejo, it is definitely the best. Feeling safe where I can just leave my home and not having to lock the door, is the best thing. It is a great city to raise your kids. The schools are great with high rating, and they even have a deaf and hard of hearing program at canyon vista elementary school, which awesome because apparently through all of Orange County there are only two elementary schools!"
