4/10GreatSchools RatingParent Rating AverageThis school district has several opportunities for preformance improvement. Transportation is terrible, administration does little to nothing to help parents who actually care about the success of their students as Mr. Haugh stated he's not over Transportation however Transportation is effecting student grades. They show little to no concern for students who actually want to succeed.Parent Review9mo ago14 Reviews - Red Oak Middle School

4/10GreatSchools RatingParent Rating AverageAs a 7th grade student who has been in this school for 2 years, ROMS definitely has a lot of teachers that are either not very good, or are literally the most phenomenal people you will ever meet (Mrs Gentry, Mr Terry, Mrs Jackson, Mrs Samuels just to name a few of the good ones and I'm not naming the bad ones just in case the school can track my name on this. ) that view the kids here more as friends than just people that they're required to teach simply because they're paid to do so. The counselours here are really nice and actually give you advice instead of just saying breath in and breath out as if we haven't been doing that 24/7 our entire freaking life. So shout out to Mrs Wells and Mrs Barnes for making my school year a bit more manageable since I'm very bad at turning things in on time and other things like that. For a review on how they treat people in special education, I personally would not know since I don't have any siblings with disabilities. But when I do see them at the lunch table, they usually smile and wave at me and I smile and wave back and they overall seem pretty happy so I think that they're doing well. Unfortunately, ROMS is a type of school that does have some small problem with students getting into fights at least once a week. But honestly, considering the amount of people in this school, that isn't too bad honestly. I'd say that your average middle school probably has more fights than this one. If you do have issues with things that are happening in the school, there are occasional parent teacher conferences where you talk with the staff and discuss any issues that you might have. I hope this review as a student was at least a bit helpful to y'all.Student Review1y ago12 Reviews - Shields Elementary School

8/10GreatSchools RatingParent Rating AverageMy son attended K-2nd grade here, and I couldn't have asked for a better school experience. Mrs McGregor (K) and Ms Murphy (2nd) are the types of teachers most only dream about getting. They made my son LOVE learning and clearly did their part in helping me shape and mold my son into a reading rock star! They made my feel confident that my son was being taken care of and getting the education he should. The school as awhile does a great good at making it feel like one big family. We are moving this summer and the hardest part about leaving is going to be leaving Sheilds Elemnetary. But I am confident in the educational foundation they built for my son.Other Review10y ago17 Reviews - Check out schools near 941 Denham Dr.

"Lots of events for the community that are hosted by the city. In addition several local churches and groups support the citizens in the areas the city can’t. "

"I loves from Dallas to Red Oak and we’re not moving back. Yes it’s less crowded then the city but , the schools are good. The people are nice, it quiet, and it’s the country! Big win!! We love it by 9:30 the streets are quiet. It’s a good place to have kids. To go to major stores you have to go to Waxahachie 15 min drive. "

"I moved to Red Oak 2 years ago, and I love it! It’s quiet and safe. The schools are good, and the parks are well kept. Just that they aren’t many stores here. You have to drive about 15 min to Waxahachie to get to retail. "

"I’ve lived here all my life and have never had a problem and issues with it. My parents raised my siblings and I here and have only ever known Red Oak, but know enough to always recommend to anyone interested in moving. "

"congested due to mornings are tough because schools are so sporadically spaced-out and not a lot of Road space road. constant work going on resulting in detours that can throw your morning commute off schedule. . "

"Some neighbors let their dogs out unleashed and they come into your yard to do their business or run up to your dogs when you’re taking your own out. I’ve had to pull mine in a few times to avoid aggression. "
