3/10GreatSchools RatingParent Rating AverageWhy in the world would you ever choose to willingly attend this middle school? If you're zoned for this school there's a great chance you can transfer to a school like crestdale through the CMS school choice lottery. Take my word for it, do NOT send any of your kids here.Half of the reviews here don't tell you just how bad this school really is. This school genially has no school spirit whatsoever (a very overlooked part when finding the right middle school), from the time I'v been here there have been no pep rallies, very mild "field days" ect. These types of things help to make a positive school environment. Then there's the obvious, grades. Tests scores at this school have always been low, mainly from the people who don't try at all. That then brings me to the school environment, it is absolutely TERRIBLE. You have students vaping literally everywhere and teachers won't do a thing. People will pull fire alarms, call the police repeatedly, and make bomb threats. (yes all of those things actually happened when I attended) Once again, if you're zoned for this school PLEASE at least apply to transfer to crestdale, I transferred there 8th grade and instantly saw such a huge difference, and when visiting both schools you should be able to easily see it as well. I am considering it for my nephew since my sister is planning to move to Charlotte soon and needs a safe, diverse elementary school in the area.
