About this House
New 1-bedroom apartment on gorgeous farm property close to town. Enjoy peace and quiet, organic produce and fresh eggs on 60-acres with pond, sledding hill, gardens and forest. You are just 15 minutes from all the amenities of the bustling town of Brattleboro, with an active music and art scene, many restaurants and activities. This apartment is adorable, and part of the original stable. Please note it has a composting toilet. It can come partially furnished with living room love seat and chair, coffee table, kitchen cart and dining/work table. It has a bonus 8x8 heated mudroom, which can be used as an office space.
It's a unique property where tenants are part of a small community. You have as much privacy as you wish, but everyone helps out maintaining things. We divide up the responsibilities taking out the trash, mowing the lawn, feeding the animals, cleaning the laundry room, shoveling paths. We have chickens and guineas for eggs (and tick control), goats for cuddles and manure, peacocks and ducks for decoration. We also have an orchard (the peaches are delicious) and a large vegetable garden. If you don't like to be around people or animals and aren't comfortable with a composting toilet, this place is probably not for you. If you love animals, gardening, nature and wide open space and forests, you would probably love it here. Extra points if you're handy
Owner pays for plowing, trash pickup, septic, water. Renter pays $50/month to use shared laundry facilities, and $170 a month for electrical (which covers heat).
