Description

This property is no longer available to rent or to buy. This description is from January 09, 2024
This single story home is located on a tree lined street in the Alhambra Historic Neighborhood Carpenter-Nathason Tract. It has been owned by one family since 1960 and boasts lots of its original architectural character with its arches and built-ins. There is a vintage decorative speakeasy in the front door. The foyer has natural light from a window and arches leading into the living room or veer left to enter the dining room with its built-in hutch. Original cabinetry is in the kitchen, including a metal lined potato/bread drawer. There is original wood flooring in the LR and 2 front BRs. Recent renovations include fresh paint, new vinyl flooring, upgraded heater unit (Oct. '22), new ceiling fans, new carpet, double-pane windows in BR's, Den and Family Room. In 2022, there was a tub-to-shower conversation in the front bathroom for easy accessibility for the owner. The Master BD has its own entrance from the backyard and includes a vanity area, two closets and attached bathroom with shower. Besides the BR's and BR's, there is a Living Room, Dining Room, Den/Office (no closet), and Family Room. Long drive way runs the entire length of home to the garage in back. You can enter the home from multiple entrances including the front on the home, side entrance and two back entries. NOTE the LOT SIZE - 8,123 Square Feet (per assessor) 50 ft frontage and 178 ft lot depth. The BACK YARD is a BLANK CANVAS! The possibilities to match your lifestyle are endless. Leave the home as-is with all its Vintage Charm or remodel to include all the modern home conveniences - your choice! The property is being sold in its current "as-is" condition.

"There are a lot of dog owners here. There are two groups of dog owners and their dogs who meet at the park every afternoon - - one group for big dogs and one for small and mid-size dogs. Everyone is friendly. "

"You’re lucky if you can find a parking in this area because so many people are living under the same roof and the apartments only allow one or two parking so everybody is cramping the street with all these extra cars that the city should not be allowing them to park or rent if they don’t have apartments but for them"

"This neighborhood feels pretty safe. I like that many stores and cafes are open late throughout the entire week. It gives you a night time option. I used to live in a city that basically goes to sleep at 8pm and being busy at work late night options are a must. Alhambra is also home to many boba tea shops which is a staple of the 626 in general."
