8/10GreatSchools RatingParent Rating AverageAbsolutely horrible school. They have no one communicating with each other. The counselors are MIA and never call amyone back. Same goes for the principals and the front desks. The only one that will ever call back is the attendance person (pfcourse because if the kids dont show up the school doesnt get funded) which is why im honeschooling now. Oroville High is much much better. They should be ashamed of themselves.Parent Review6mo ago - Rosedale Elementary School

6/10GreatSchools RatingParent Rating AverageRosedale is amazing. I don't know why the whole of Chico doesn't send their children there. My son started in Kindergarden so I'm not sure about starting in later grades but starting in Kindergarden all the children work and learn together. I saw how they built a strong foundation in reading in Spanish and it translated to English almost instantly. All of a sudden my son was reading in English too- incredible. The teachers are caring and helpful. They have high expectations that are easily met by the students. I think sometimes we underestimate what our children can do. They have tutors if needed. My son went to school here K-2 and then we had to move. The main thing we miss about Chico is Rosedale- I wish I could find a school like this where we live now. We miss the teachers, friends, activities and learning too. I highly recommend this school!!!! Love you Rosedale!Parent Review5y ago - Marsh (Harry M.) Junior High School

7/10GreatSchools RatingParent Rating AverageThe bullying happening on at this school is inexcusable! What happened to the anti bullying campaign CUSD! Girls are aloud to slap boys for fun. Kids are getting shoved into fences. Kids are being kicked and shoved. And the verbal abuse is worse.! Teachers and other adults need to be outside in between classes get and stop relying solely on cameras.Parent Review2y ago - Check out schools near 925 Chestnut St.

"It’s very peaceful a lot of the time! Sometimes there will be fireworks around holidays and weirdos speeding, but other than that, it’s nice"

"Area is very pet friendly. Lots of people walking their dogs but not too much foot traffic. Night walks not suggested because of low visibility and some high vehicle traffic by main roads"

"Cars drive quickly through the neighborhood. So kids need to watch out. The neighborhood feels like the 50’s in how close ours neighbors our. There is a sense of community that it very hard to find. You could leave your front door unlocked and most likely no one would try to get in. It feels safe"
