"I look out over the mouth of the Columbia River from the window in my coffee bar and out at the Megler Bridge from my dining and living rooms. Stunning views always. Darling downtown shops, restaurants and art galleries. This little town is a gem."
  • Stacijeannette
"Very easy commute, no traffic. Nice small seaside community. Historic. Lots of little art galleries, antique shops, vintage clothing stores."
  • Stacijeannette
"It is very historical. The views are beautiful. It is partially industrial. Good to live in Astoria. Winters rainy summers stunning."
  • Jgall011
"They would like seeing all the dogs who live here but there are a lack of parks to take them to. Why is that "
  • Stacijeannette
"Love it here! The smell of the sea! The sounds of sea gulls and the charm of the Main Street at Christmas time. Astoria is beautiful all year round."
  • Jgall011
"There’s so many dogs here so they would have pals probably, lots of small spots to play ball and hike up streets for a good workout "
  • Trulia User
"bus comes around once an hour. drive my own car to work. it isn't busy unless it's a holiday weekend or summer. "
  • Charlesbeaudoin914
"The neighbors hate dogs, the other neighbors or too nosey, ODOT wont give us a pull in or pullout lane which means you have a 3 second pullout because of the blind curve on highway 30."
  • Dcmorgado
"Dog owners love the Riverwalk and use it extensively as motorists are not allowed. It’s a perfect haven for pets and per watchers. "
  • Cory W.
"Like it because there are always people walking dogs. People are good about picking up after their pets too. "
  • Chelsey B.
"Lots of older people but still friendly enough with kids. Close to a few different parks. Traffic can be a bit fast near main roads so stay vigilant. "
  • Alexa C.
"Would not like the lack of a fenced/off leash dog park in Astoria. Would not like the low availability of rentals that accept dogs over 25lbs or pets in general. "
  • Lisa Decicco
"historic downtown area. very unique and interesting people who are somewhat passionate about historic preservation and I feel sincerely welcome when i knock on a door.we help each other out and truly have a sense of belonging and caring."
  • Lkspin
"Area has a river walk trail. Beaches. One park that I know of. Good eateries. Shopping areas. Antique stores. A concert hall. Has one amazing coffee house called 3 cups. Warrenton is five miles it has numerous hiking areas."
  • SarahC.
"Sweet, quaint, beautiful and friendly town. Lots of locally owned businesses and eateries. I'd say theres plenty to do on the weekend if you like to be out and about. Great public schools! I feel safe here"
  • DB
"most of the neighborhood puts up lights for Halloween and Christmas some for all the holidays. there is no wild animals but there are wildlife there's deer there's raccoon there's possums but they don't bother any pets at least not mine"
  • Joanne
"People are very dog friendly and like dogs in almost any situation. The river walk needs more trash cans to dispose of dog waste."
  • Nmarcotte69 h. c.
"we recently hand fed deer in our yard. city parking is awful, our house doesnt offer parking. everything is in walking distance. I dont like the neighborhood we live in now though, which is why we are looking to buy."
  • Sarah F.
"Fantastic park with playground, tennis courts, and plenty of grass for the dogs to play in. A wonderful market with a tasty deli(Peter Pan). Friendly people all around. Safe, serene, peaceful, lots of wild life!"
