3/10GreatSchools RatingParent Rating AverageThis school is terrible. The teachers will sometimes blame the wrong kids for something they didn't do just because they act up more, then when the friends of that student try to tell the teacher that they are wrong they will not believe them because they are the students friend. We are barely let outside during nice weather then when we are outside and want a break we are not given it. Students get in-trouble for things that are small or something they did not do. Students have gotten after school detentions or lunch detentions because of a hood or headphones that don't have a wire. We can't even have our phones on us and must have them in our locker. If there is an actual lock down for example, we wouldn't be able to tell our parents or loved ones just because we wouldn't have our phone. Sometimes when they take our phones they give it to the office and won't give it back unless a parent or guardian picks it up. I believe that is not fair since they did not pay for the phone and have no right to take it from us if we are just using it in the hallway. The bullying here is insane. Kids are disrespected for the most stupid things then when we say something about it to the school first they barely ever do anything, then when the student gets fed up with the bullying and starts to yell at the people who were bullying them that student gets in-trouble and not the bully. An example of this is when a friend of mine had a terrible ex-boyfriend and the school knew this. I talked to the principal about it and he knew how bad of a person he was towards my friend. The next year they had almost all of their classes together so my friend had her classes changed. That is not ok at all, the school knew of the problem that was happening between them yet they still were placed together. Problems like this have happened before and not just now. I, as a student, do not like going to this school. It's very tiring and I hate being here with every inch of my body. It takes a lot of motivation out of me so when I get home my parents think something is wrong and there is. No matter how hard I try I cannot get through to them that this school is terrible. I would give it 0 stars if I could. There is so much more but this is currently all I can think of that happens here and this is from a student that just happens to hear what happens here and see what happens. Not all the teachers are bad but there are some very bad ones and some of the students are very terrible. I hate it hereStudent Review1mo ago - John F Kennedy Senior High School

4/10GreatSchools RatingParent Rating AverageThis school is the worst, and yet we pay the highest taxes. The students have zero field trips, the administration cancels most activities, the sports fields are disgusting, and extra curricular activities are limited at best. Student behavior is out of control, security guards have been hired, and yet they harass good students, and are friendly with trouble makers. Administration doesn't punish bad behavior, so inappropriate things continue. Students struggle to learn in class due to outbursts from incorrigible students. Instead of removing those students, teachers send work home as homework, making students learn on their own. My children are good students, who are friendly, and always do the right thing. They have been bullied, lost in the chaos, and continued to be disappointed by this school system. This school claims to educate the whole child, and yet they take away many experiences that would help do that.Parent Review2y ago - Theodore Roosevelt School

N/AGreatSchools RatingParent Rating Average"T! R!" (as its known to those of us who love it.......) is an excellent school for 3 reasons: 1. A confident, enthusiastic, and communicative Principal who sets the tone for the school, by his leadership. 2. A caring and experienced teaching and non-teaching staff who clearly work together as a team, for the benefit of the students. 3. A teaching staff that has obviously chosen TR as their school of choice. This is reflected in their hard work and dedication. I am a parent of a child at the school; I am also a professional educator with 30 years' experience in the classroom. Keep up the great work!Parent Review10y ago - Woodrow Wilson Elementary School

"I’ve loved here my whole life. It’s a nice little place to live. Majority of the people living here, they’re nice most of the time. It’s quiet, sometimes. There’s always cops driving around so it’s a safe area"

"I used to live here, very nice small village enviornment. Good general store within two block walk, school on corner, fire department down the street, quite a few businesses in the village. Still has its own town board and receives services through Cheektowaga, NY as far as police. Two parks nearby. Inexpensive homes and good for families with pets. Lot of small ranches, capes."

"I read the other review he is so wrong about cheektowaga/ sloan because he's in buffalo Bad area. From this house that is atleast 15 min away heading toured downtown. Sloan has still many of the older polish folk that keep to themselves but also still like to reminiss about the old times. There are many new families moving in that are all past cheektowga/sloan graduates that still like the area and want thier children to go to the same schools they did. The community has many events that take place at the sloan firehall for all the holidays that are for the kids and also the adults. There is little crime and is patroled regularly just incase of any mischief. (very safe) Many streets to walk the kids or the pets, plus nice area to ride bikes. Don't for get the sloan market (camillo's) too for thier great deals on meats. To sum it up nice nieghbors, quite area,, good schools, bus route close by, shopping close by and just a great setting to raise a family, live the single life, be newly weds or retire."
