5/10GreatSchools RatingParent Rating AverageI have two children attending Cotton Creek. One is in 5th and has been attending since kindergarten. My other child is in second and has been attending since kindergarten. The principal and assistant principal are fantastic and on top of everything and I feel they handle situations appropriately and are sensitive to each child’s needs. Every teacher my children have had have been wonderful and very attentive and communicated often. My children both enjoy school and learning and the teachers are a big part of that. One of my children has a 504 plan and all the staff have been great throughout the whole process of helping put it into place. Everyone shows how much they care and want all the kids to be safe and happy and find a way to learn that suits the children best. The teachers are amazing, and I really enjoyed their style of teaching and etiquette, and the classrooms may be a little noisy but it’s really great! Bullying policies are OK, not great but not bad. I got bullied and I will not specify the students names or disrespect the staff, but they did little or nothing about the bullying. "It’s a clean family friendly community. I love living here. The neighborhoods are friendly and neighbors are always willing to lend a helping hand. The village office ladies are wonderful!!! The officers stop to talk to kids, the parks are fun and engaging for all levels (even some of us grownups get up there with the kids!). "

"Quiet neighborhood, friendly people everywhere. Me and my grandson meet new people at the park and have been able to have reciprocal play dates. Low crime rate!!! Excellent first responders!! They are quick!! It’s wonderful to know that when my grandson goes out to play with his new friends that he is safe in the back yard. This is a great place for that perfect small town feeling that I had growing up. "

"Being by the water is what makes this area unique. yes there are many nearby towns with water but there are boat toars, ice fishing, many small beaches to go to and they even shave the ice in winter for ice skating! it's an awesome neighborhood and the people are great. "

"Island Lake is a quiet bedroom community with great local pride. There's the Cornfest, Venetian Night, Lakefest, Carnivals, Fall Fesitval, Spring Craft Show, Concerts in the Park and many more activities. There are excellent restaurants in Island Lake and a great local grocery store. "
