School this year is not started good. Children are kept outside that we do not feel safe. It is taking between 15 - 30 minutes to drop or pick up my kid. One lane was closed by the school and the public road was also blocked by cars. We are sending our kids to this school for 2 years, this is the first time we are feeling disturbed and worried. They do not consider about the parents time or kids safety. They make the walkers to stand in the sun close to the main road. Car riders were also made to sit outside the school. But they say kids safety as priority.

"Disruptive behavior and physical aggression are two behaviors that we know are just rampant across our district." -- these are the words of administrators of the Urbana School District, at a school board meeting in 2026...

This is the worst-run school, in what is one of the most dysfunctional school districts in the area (and the state). Constant fights and terrible academic performance. The adults are not in control of this school. It feels more like a failing institution, than a place children should be. District administrators and school board are divisive and politically motivated, don't respond to concerns effectively (and haven't for many years). There is a culture of intimidation in this school district against those who dare to speak up and speak out, against what is clearly bad policy and poor performance--the facts of which can be seen in the academic statistics for this school and school district for a very long time. If you have any red flags in your mind about these schools--or your child isn't having a good experience--you need to move heaven and earth to get out of Urbana and find better schools for your family. It's not going to get better...and hasn't for many years now.
